A single sheet water filter media for gravity filtration applications that improves flow performance over the product life while maintaining sufficient metal reduction, wherein at least two distinct density gradients of the single sheet form a physical barrier for capturing colloidal and insoluble contaminants, retaining the colloidal and insoluble contaminants until the contaminants become soluble in the fluid, and being removed by the single sheet filter media. The single sheet filter overcomes the difficulties of dual- and multi-layer filters attributable to slower flow rate realized well before the rated lifetime of the product. The two distinct density gradients of the single sheet filter media are created by exerting a force on a liquid slurry, such force resulting in the separation of higher powder loading and fibers that compose the top and bottom density gradients, respectfully.

Method and apparatus for metal removal from drinking water

A filtration system and method of using the same. The method comprises the steps of guiding, by alignment rail and mating boss, a filter cartridge into a manifold housing; aligning a filter magnet with a corresponding manifold magnet; rotating, by attractive magnetic forces, the manifold magnet upon rotation of the filter cartridge into an installed position; and actuating, by attractive magnetic forces, a manifold valve.

Filter interconnect using a correlated magnet torque design

A filtration system interconnection structure having a filter manifold including a sump housing and a first correlated magnet located on or connected to a portion of the manifold, and a filter cartridge including a filter media, first and second end caps sealed to the filter media, and a second, paired correlated magnet located on or connected to the filter cartridge housing body. The first and second correlated magnets are interconnected via magnetic communication upon insertion of the filter cartridge into the sump housing, and upon movement of the filter cartridge into an alignment position, the correlated magnet located on or connected to the manifold is permitted to translate as a result of the magnetic communication. The polarity profiles of the paired correlated magnets are aligned such that a repulsion force is created when the filter cartridge is inserted within the manifold sump housing.

Filter interconnect utilizing correlated magnetic actuation for downstream system function

A filtration system interconnection structure having manifold with a rotatable manifold magnet of correlated magnets, a shroud with alignment tracks, an actuating valve for water ingress, and a filter cartridge having a rotatable filter magnet of correlated magnets, where the manifold magnet and the filter magnet are in magnetic communication with one another when the filter cartridge is inserted with the shroud, and are at least partially rotatably compatible, where the manifold magnet rotates with the filter magnet until the manifold magnet experiences a rotational stop beyond a predetermined rotation of the filter magnet, thus allowing the filter magnet to shift polarity with respect to the manifold magnet and present a repulsion force for removal of the filter cartridge from the shroud.

A filter media having lignite-derived activated carbon, polyacrylic acid (PAA), a commercially available copper-zinc alloy, and polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PolyDADMAC) or Luviquat&#xae;, which is Poly[(3-methyl-1-vinylimidazolium chloride)-co-(1-vinylpyrrolidone)], combined and used as suitable replacement for TOG bituminous coal-based activated carbon, silver, and PolyDADMAC. Functional groups in lignite-based activated carbon interact with the polyacrylic acid. Functional groups such as calcium, iron, or aluminum oxide/hydroxide of lignite-based activated carbon interact with PAA, and help hold the PolyDADMAC in place. The additional presence of a copper-zinc alloy enhances the filter anti-microbiological performance.

A moped has a frame with a steering socket connected to a front end. The front end has a front wheel. The front end steers the moped. An engine is mounted to the frame. The engine drives an engine transmission having an engine sprocket axle. The engine sprocket axle drives the engine sprocket. The engine sprocket drives the engine sprocket chain. A foot pedal is mounted on a foot pedal crank arm. The foot pedal crank arm is mounted to a foot pedal axle. The foot pedal axle is mounted to a foot pedal sprocket so that the foot pedal crank arm, the foot pedal axle and the foot pedal sprocket rotate together to drive a pedal chain. The engine is mounted at a height above the foot pedal sprocket. The engine sprocket axle drives the engine sprocket. The engine sprocket drives the engine sprocket chain.

Moped

A moped transmission includes a crankcase assembled in four sections, namely a first section, a second section, a third section and a fourth section. A crankshaft is formed as an eccentric shaft, and the crankshaft has a crankshaft gear mounted to the crankshaft. The crankshaft passes through the first section, and the crankshaft passes through and is rotably mounted to the first planar vertical mounting face. An engine connected to the first section and the second section. A main shaft has a main shaft gear in mesh with the crankshaft gear. The main shaft passes through and is rotably mounted outside the first planar vertical mounting face. The main shaft gear is mounted to the main shaft outside the first section such that the main shaft gear is encapsulated between the first section and the third section.

The light refraction illumination device may further comprise or include at least one light source associated with the support member, wherein the at least one light source is configured to emit light, and wherein the at least one light source is positioned relative to the plurality of lenses such that the light is configured to travel through the plurality of concave surfaces.
