A process for recovering non-ferrous metals from a solid matrix may include: (a) leaching the solid matrix with an aqueous-based solution containing chloride ions, ammonium ions, and Cuions, having a pH of 6.5-8.5, in a presence of oxygen, at a temperature of 100&#xb0; C.-160&#xb0; C. and a pressure of 150 kPa-800 kPa, so as to obtain an extraction solution comprising leached metals and solid leaching residue; (b) separating the solid leaching residue from the extraction solution; and/or (c) subjecting the extraction solution to at least one cementation so as to recover the leached metals in elemental state. The pH may be greater than or equal to 6.5 and less than or equal to 8.5. Temperature may be greater than or equal to 100&#xb0; C. and less than or equal to 160&#xb0; C. Pressure may be greater than or equal to 150 kPa and less than or equal to 800 kPa.

Processes for recovering non-ferrous metals from solid matrices

A process for recovering non-ferrous metals from a solid matrix may include: leaching the solid matrix with an aqueous-based solution, in a presence of oxygen, to obtain an extraction solution including leached metals and solid leaching residue; separating the solid leaching residue from the extraction solution; and subjecting the extraction solution to at least one cementation to recover the leached metals in elemental state. The leaching solution may include chloride ions. The leaching solution may further include ammonium ions. A pH of the leaching solution may be greater than or equal to 6.5 and less than or equal to 8.5. A leaching temperature may be greater than or equal to 100&#xb0; C. and less than or equal to 160&#xb0; C. A leaching pressure may be greater than or equal to 150 kPa and less than or equal to 800 kPa.

A system for recovering lead from lead-bearing materials by circulating an aqueous solution of ferric fluoroborate in fluoroboric acid through a leaching vessel to leach lead from the lead-bearing material and an electrolytic cell for recovering the lead includes a cooler for cooling at least a portion of the circulating solution sufficiently to precipitate alkali salts and alkali-earth salts, and a filter for removing the precipitated salts from the solution. A process for recovering lead from lead-bearing materials by leaching the lead from the lead-bearing material with a solution of ferric fluoroborate in fluoroboric acid and recovering the lead from the solution includes cooling at least a portion of the circulating solution sufficiently to precipitate alkali salts and alkali-earth salts, and filtering the salts from the solution.

The intelligent interactive Electronic Product Code can be used as an anti counterfeit mechanism enabling third parties requested to provide services, benefits or monetary payments to authenticate documents and or the data associated with the document is not counterfeit.

Secure personal RFID documents and method of use

A method and apparatus for authenticating currency and other important documents. A preferred embodiment may contain both a substrate, such as paper, and an embedded RFID transponder. An embedded RFID transponder or electronic watermark may contain multiple hierarchical layers of electronic passwords that are used to electronically protect the host currency from counterfeiting, or unauthorized modification. In addition, such intelligent RFID tags may uniquely identify a particular document and data related to the document. Hierarchical electronic watermarks and method of use

A rockbolt for installation in a bore in the roof of an underground excavation for supporting a roof, the rockbolt comprising a sleeve and a central member axially disposed and is extending substantially the length of the sleeve thereby defining an annular chamber in the sleeve. The sleeve at its lower end engages a faceplate which engages the roof. The upper end of the sleeve can be secured in the bore with an anchor, as is well known in the art. Ports in the lower end of the sleeve permit the separate introduction of separate components of a hardenable binder material, which mix as they pass up through the annular chamber. The binder is extruded out through ports in the upper end of the sleeve and travels downward filling the annular space between the sleeve and the bore. The binder hardens securing the central member and the sleeve in the bore.

Binder-injecting rockbolt

A rockbolt for installation in a bore in the roof of an underground excavation to support the roof and an installer wand for temporary insertion into the rockbolt to provider hardenable material to the rockbolt. The rockbolt comprises a sleeve, ports in the sleeve near the upper end, and means inside the sleeve for engaging the installer wand inserted into the sleeve. The installer wand comprises an elongated member for conducting hardenable binder, means for connecting the lower end of the elongated member to a source of hardenable binder material, and a head at the upper end of the elongated member to engage the engaging means in the rockbolt and conduct binder from the wand to the rockbolt.

Rockbolt and installer wand

A rockbolt for installation in a bore in the roof of an underground excavation, such as a tunnel or mine, to support the roof, comprises a sleeve having a closed top and ports in its upper end, a plunger slideably mounted in the sleeve, and hardenable binder material encapsulated in burstable cartridges in the sleeve above the plunger. The rockbolt is inserted into the bore and the plunger is operated either mechanically or by the application of pressurized fluid to the plunger, to extrude the binder material to secure the rockbolt in the bore. A mechanical anchor can be provided on the top of the sleeve so the rockbolt can be tensioned before the binder sets. Alternatively, faster setting binder can be provided in the sleeve below the balance of the binder so that it is the last to be extruded and remains near the top to secure the top to the surrounding rock before the balance of the binder sets so that the rockbolt can be tensioned before the balance of the binder sets.
