A hand guard strap which mounts to and is held onto the handle of a tool, such as a knife, by sliding onto the handle at distal and proximal ends, the hand guard being held in a secured position by means of spring tension in the strap.

A cyclone separator arrangement is made by forming a hollow cylindrical wall, making an L-shaped cut beginning at a first open end of the wall to form a flap, bending the flap inwardly to form a tangential inlet, enclosing the open end of the wall, and providing an outlet tube extending through the first end into the interior of said cylindrical wall along the central longitudinal axis.

A method has been found to improve the efficiency of a cyclone system for a fluidized bed. The typical plurality of cyclones arranged in series in communication with the fluidized bed is replaced by a plurality of similarly-sized cyclones arranged in parallel, so that the residence time in each of the cyclones is greater than it was in the original system, thereby greatly improving the recovery of particulate material while greatly reducing the energy consumption of the system.

Method for cyclone conversion for a fluidized bed

A fluidized bed vessel includes a cyclone which has a leg for returning particulate material to the bed, and an eductor at the bottom of the leg for providing the gas to fluidize the bed and for inducing a downward flow in the leg to provide greater particulate separation from the gas in the cyclone.
