The present invention relates to a power tool having a housing, a handle having an inlet passage and an outlet passage extending therethrough, and a pneumatic pressure seal/vibration isolator positioned between the handle. The present invention provides a tool that has an excellent handle to housing seal and does not exhibit heavy vibrations. The present invention is also the vibration isolator that seals the handle to the motor housing and reduces vibrational transmissions to a user. Also disclosed is a power tool having a vibration isolator coupled to the housing and handle, and a mechanism for allowing sliding rotation of the handle relative to the vibration isolator, thereby allowing the handle to point in a different direction other than toward the point of impact. The present invention also discloses a pneumatic power tool including a handle, a housing having a first longitudinal axis, and a vibration isolator rotatably coupling the handle to the housing, the vibration isolator including a central opening through which air passes that is not aligned with the first longitudinal axis.

The present invention relates an impact tool with a twin lobed anvil, and the separate anvil, timing shaft and mating dog hammer. The impact transmission is configured in such a way so as to maintain contact between the anvil and dog hammer. As a result, the components of the present invention provide a harder blow to the anvil of an impact tool due to a larger strike surface area, provide greater torque due to increased mass at engagement, and increase the durability of the impact tool.

A hand held compressed air power tool is provided with a handle that can axially rotate about an orthogonal axis perpendicular to the tool housing. Thus, the handle can rotate independently of the motor housing thereby allowing the handle to point in a different direction other than toward the point of impact. The tool utilizes a rotational coupling system that allows the handle to rotate while also allowing compressed air to be fed into, and exhausted out of, the tool via the base of the handle.

An elongated fuel-air bypass is connected between an outlet port of a fuel-air mixing device and an inlet port of an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The elongated bypass apparatus includes an elongated bypass conduit formed of a thermally conductive material and which has sufficient length, exterior surface area and thermal conductivity to enable it to cause liquid fuel introduced through the fuel-air mixing device to change from a liquid state to a gaseous state prior entry into the one or more cylinders of the internal combustion engine. Turbulence creating mechanisms, such as venturis or baffles, are provided in the elongated bypass conduit for creating turbulence in the fuel-air mixture flowing therethrough. An after-air supply tube is provided to supply after-air near an upstream end of the fuel-air bypass conduit, and is controlled by an after-air valve to provide for a lean fuel-air mixture. Also provided is a liquid additive system for supplying water and/or alcohol into the fuel-air bypass conduit. A start-up fuel injection system is provided to inject a burst of fuel into the fuel-air bypass conduit at initial start-up of the internal combustion engine. At least one reparticulation reservoir is provided in the bottom of a portion of the fuel-air bypass conduit in order to enable quick start-up of the engine after flooding.

In an internal combustion engine, a piston/cylinder arrangement includes a hemispherical combustion chamber formed either in a piston crown secured to a top of the piston or in the piston head itself. This hemispherical combustion chamber occupies substantially an entirety of the surface area of the upper face of the piston crown or piston. A cylinder head extension member extends downwardly into the hemispherical combustion chamber so as to occupy a volume thereof as necessary to increase the compression ratio to a desired value. When the hemispherical combustion chamber is formed in the piston crown, the piston crown is secured to but spaced apart from the piston head so as to insulate the piston crown from the piston head. This enables the piston crown to be formed of superior grade metal relative to the piston head.

Elongated fuel-air bypass for internal combustion engine

An apparatus including a first chamber in operative communication with a carburetor to receive carburetor fluid flow therefrom, directing such fluid flow through a central conduit into a second chamber in operative fluid communication with an intake manifold of an associated internal combustion engine, such that the central conduit is arranged for the heating and associated gaseous flow from the carburetor to the intake manifold.

A hydraulic torque impulse generator uses a dual piston arrangement to provide impacts to a rotative anvil and automatic shut-off and control apparatus for limiting the pressure without reversing the direction of the driving clutch cage, a pressure venting arrangement permitting one impact per revolution.

A reversible powered impact wrench is provided wherein improvements are incorporated in the detenting of the reverse direction valve, venting of excessive air pressure within the impact wrench motor housing which may use light weight material due to improved clutch and camming means and wherein an improved one piece anvil-timing shaft is designed to be supported by the impact wrench hammer and rotor.

A hand held pneumatic tool is provided for driving fasteners in which the cam shape and arrangement between the driving and driven cams provides a 'dwell' time for preventing further impacts after the desired torque has been reached and a latch arrangement provided to prevent undesired shut-off in the reverse direction of operation. Means are provided to assure restart after shut-off, and a ball spline between the driven cam and spindle is used to increase accuracy.

A rotary impulse device for an air motor or electric motor drive designed to produce an adjustable output torque is provided. The driven output shaft or impulse member has a cam surface driven by a driver which is axially or radially movable in a driving cage mechanism whereby the torque developed by the impulse device cyclically varies between zero and a predetermined adjustable maximum quantity. Due to the cyclical variation in the torque developed there is no impact component of the torque delivered and therefore the tightening torque will not increase as the number of torque cycles increases.

Impulse tool

An elastic ring for maintaining a pin in a hole formed in a socket and work drive shaft of a rotary tool. The ring has integral fingers which project into the ends of the hole so that the pin cannot dislodge the ring by centrifugal force when the tool is operating at high speed. Several variations of the ring include weighted areas at portions of the ring midway between the fingers, which areas counterbalance centrifugal force on the ring to supplement holding force of the fingers upon the pin.
