A weatherproof enclosure,with a side hinged cover,having a screwless cover latching means,which is not defeated by the pressure of expanding internal gases, is disclosed. The enclosure,includes a rain channel,located immediately adjacent a front edge of the box top,The rain channel,is generally J-shaped in cross-section and extends across the front of the box,and slightly beyond the two side walls,and,of the box,such that any liquid being received within the rain channel,will be directed over the side walls,and,of the box,The rain channel,cooperates with a downwardly extending flange,along the front edge of the box top,and an inwardly extending flange,along the top of the side hinged cover,to prevent the ingress of liquid at the top of the cover,Inwardly facing flanges,and,along the sides of the hinged cover,overlap the side walls,and,of the box,to prevent the ingress of liquid along each side of the cover,The cover latch,is positioned outside the side wall,or,of the box,such that the corresponding latching slot,in the cover,is also outside the box side wall,or,thus preventing the ingress of liquid through the latching slot,The configuration of the cover,latch,and the latching slot,is such that pressure exerted on the inside surfaces of the enclosure,causes a positive latching effect between the cover,and the latch

Electrical enclosure

The present invention includes a terminal barrier for use in an electrical distribution load canter having a housing defined by side walls upstanding from a back wall. Within the housing are input terminals connecting a service line to a main circuit breaker and output terminals connected to a plurality of branch circuit breakers. The barrier is a generally flat, thin body positioned to separate the input terminals from the output terminals. The barrier includes interlocking elements for disengagingly connecting one end of the barrier to the side wall of the housing. The barrier also includes elements for fastening the opposite end of the barrier to the housing while simultaneously engaging the interlocking elements and supporting the barrier in a plane parallel to the back wall of the housing.
