A method for evaluating the potential effectiveness of refracking a previously fracked oil/gas well is accomplished by isolating a plurality of previously fracked zones of an oil/gas well in a formation and measuring the fluid flow rates from the isolated zones using a three phase flow meter positioned within the well at or near the previously fracked zones. The zones may be isolated by an isolation assembly which includes two packers connected by a perforated pipe and attached to a tubular positioned within the well.

Method and apparatus for zone testing a well

A method for evaluating the potential effectiveness of refracing a previously fracked oil/gas well is accomplished by isolating a plurality of previously fracked zones of an oil/gas well in a formation and measuring the fluid flow rates from the isolated zones using a three phase flow meter positioned within the well at or near the previously fracked zones. The zones may be isolated by an isolation assembly which includes two packers connected by a perforated pipe and attached to a tubular positioned within the well.

A jet pump assembly is adapted to be releasably attached to a tubular member of a tubular string in an oil well. The jet pump may be pumped out of the tubular string to the surface by a reverse flow of power fluid down the well between the tubular string and the casing of the well. Consequently the jet pump may be serviced or reconfigured to a direct pumping mode without the necessity of a wire line or other apparatus. A sensor for measuring downhole parameters such as temperature and pressure etc. is positioned within a cavity located in a lower portion of the jet pump so as to be removable from the well with the pump.

A sensor detects the presence of an electrically conductive liquid such as water or the material at the bottom of a reservoir such as an oil pan or crank case. The water or other material will enter a gap between two contacts that are connected to a power source and a signal device such as an LED. The power source may be a battery positioned within the sensor or may be external.

A fluid recovery systemfor collecting formation fluid at the surface of a wellincludes a downhole jet pumpand a surface diaphragm pumphaving a plurality of diaphragms. The jet pump includes a fluid nozzle, an intakedirecting the formation fluid into a jet, a mixing tubefor mixing the power fluid and the formation fluid, and a diffuserfor converting the velocity of the mixed fluid to pressure. A flow meterand a pressure sensormonitor the quantity and pressure of the power fluid to the jet pump.
