A wheel end assembly for a tire inflation system includes a sealing ring disposed on an axle housing. The sealing ring includes a conduit formed therethrough in fluid communication with a conduit formed through a hub. The hub is rotatably disposed on the axle housing adjacent the sealing ring. An inner rotary seal is disposed between the sealing ring and the hub. An outer rotary seal is disposed between the sealing ring and the hub. The hub conduit is in fluid communication with the sealing ring conduit via an area between the inner rotary seal and the outer rotary seal. A bearing seal is disposed between the sealing ring and the hub. The bearing seal is disposed outboard of the outer rotary seal. The inner rotary seal, the outer rotary seal, and the bearing seal are each in sealing contact with the sealing ring.

A rotary joint assembly for a tire pressure management system includes a rotating portion. The rotating portion has a first air passageway and a second air passageway. The first air passageway and the second air passageway are in fluid communication with a chamber formed in the rotating portion. The rotary joint assembly also includes a non-rotating portion. The non-rotating portion has a third air passageway. The third air passageway is in fluid communication with the second air passageway via a sealed space. The sealed space is provided between the rotating portion and the non-rotating portion. A valve assembly is positioned within the chamber. The valve assembly includes a piston and a biasing member. The valve assembly allows a flow of pressurized air to be directed from the first air passageway to the third air passageway or a flow of pressurized air to be directed from the third air passageway to the first air passageway.

An assembly for a tire pressure management system includes a housing. The housing includes a first branch and a second branch. The second branch is oriented at an oblique angle with respect to the first branch. The first branch and the second branch are in fluid communication with each other and a main branch. The main branch is rotatable with respect to the first branch. A valve assembly is housed within the first branch. The valve assembly provides selective fluid communication between a portion of the tire pressure management system and the main branch. A pressure relief valve assembly is housed within the second branch. The pressure relief valve assembly provides selective fluid communication between the assembly and the atmosphere.

An assembly for a tire inflation system includes a tire stem. A housing is engaged with a first end of the tire stem. The housing comprises a fluid conduit extending therethrough and a first adapter secured to a second adapter. The second adapter receives the first end of the tire stem and a first end of the first adapter. The first end of the tire stem and the first end of the first adapter abut each other. A valve is disposed in the fluid conduit and positioned within the first adapter. A depressor member is attacked to the first end of the first adapter and provided in the fluid conduit. The depressor member extends away from the valve and toward the tire stem. A seal member is disposed in a groove in the second adapter and provided around an outer surface of the tire stem.

Assembly for a tire inflation system and the tire inflation system made therewith

An assembly for a central tire inflation system includes a first housing having a first end and a hose member provided in the first end. A valve assembly is in fluid communication with the hose member via the first housing. The valve assembly includes a second housing and a valve positioned within the second housing. The second housing includes a base portion which comprises a lower wall portion. The valve is biased towards the lower wall portion by a biasing member to open the valve assembly.

Assembly for a central tire inflation system

Accordingly, the present invention provides a power steering pump having a filter that removes contaminants from fluid flowing through the relief system of the power steering pump. The power steering pump includes a housing having a longitudinal bore communicating with a fluid outlet. A fluid discharge port communicates with the bore and a fluid bypass port also communicates with the bore. A flow control member is situated in the bore and forms a outlet passage communicating with the fluid outlet. A flow control valve is slidably received in the bore. The flow control valve operates to open and allow communication between the fluid discharge port and the outlet passage in the flow control member. When the fluid flow from the fluid discharge port reaches a suitable pressure, the valve opens further to allow fluid flow from the fluid discharge port to the bypass port. A fluid pressure passage communicates pressure from the fluid outlet to a pressure sensing chamber forming part of the flow control valve assembly. A filter located downstream from the flow control member operates to filter fluid passing through the fluid pressure passage, and thereby, prevents contamination from entering the relief system of the power steering pump.
