Embodiments described herein are directed to simultaneously displaying proxy windows for application windows and/or tabs included in such application windows via a graphical user interface of an operating system. For instance, an application programming interface (API) associated with an application that supports a tabbed document interface (TDI) provides information associated with each tab opened within an application window associated with the application. An API of the operating system receives and utilizes such information to generate and display a proxy window for each tab. The proxy windows for the tabs may be displayed alongside proxy windows of application windows for other applications. The proxy windows may be generated and displayed in response to user invocation of various features of the operating system graphical user interface, including, but not limited to, a task switcher feature, a taskbar feature, or a window snap feature.

Systems and methods for providing tab previews via an operating system user interface

Methods and systems are provided for managing a GUI of a web browser. When a user interaction with a tab presentation control is detected, a horizontal tab strip having first navigation tab controls for a set of webpages is removed, and a vertical tab strip having second navigation tab controls for the same set of webpages is displayed in a vertical column in the browser. In response to detecting a user hover interaction with the vertical tab strip while the vertical tab strip is in a collapsed state, the vertical tab strip is expanded from the collapsed state to an expanded state. In response to termination of the user hover interaction, the vertical tab strip is collapsed from the expanded state to the collapsed state. The vertical tab strip in the collapsed state occupies a smaller portion of the GUI then the vertical tab strip in the expanded state.

Navigation tab control organization and management for web browsers

Provided is a method, performed by a web browser, for identifying and displaying content, the method including receiving a webpage including text, comparing the text to titles of media content in a media content database, based on the comparison, identifying a subset of text as a match to a title of a matching media content, based on identifying the subset of text, modifying a display of the webpage by inserting a visual indicator into the webpage in proximity to the subset of text, or modifying the display of the subset of text, detecting an interaction of a user-controlled input with the inserted visual indicator or the modified display of the subset of text, and displaying a popup interface over a portion of the webpage, the popup interface displaying additional information about the matching media content and a selectable user-interface element to play the matching media content.

Preserving ink effects in ink-to-text are described. A method of preserving styles and ink effects in ink-to-text can include receiving ink strokes and displaying the ink strokes on a canvas interface, each ink stroke comprising ink parameters such as pressure, ink color, and ink effect. In response to receiving a command to convert one or more ink strokes to text, the method can further include identifying text comprising characters and words from the one or more ink strokes; generating an appropriate coloring or style for each character or word based on the ink parameters associated with corresponding ink strokes, the appropriate coloring or style being generated based on a mapping between ink parameters and text parameters; applying the appropriate coloring or style to the text; and displaying the text on the canvas interface.

A method of preserving styles and ink effects in ink-to-text can include receiving ink strokes, each ink stroke having associated ink parameters; receiving a command to convert one or more ink strokes to text; identifying text comprising characters and words from the one or more ink strokes; generating an appropriate coloring or style for each character or word based on the ink parameters associated with corresponding ink strokes, the appropriate coloring or style being generated based on a mapping between ink parameters and text parameters; and applying the appropriate coloring or style to the text.
