As a media program is aired to listeners, agents executed by a control system monitor actions by the creator or by listeners to ensure that the creator or the listeners comply with relevant policies and that the media program is aired as scheduled. The agents are programmed with sets of rules regarding content, language, advertising or other restrictions, and configured to process signals representative of actions taken by the creator or the listeners to determine whether such actions comply with such rules. The signals may represent spoken words, written messages, or interactions by listeners, among other actions. The agents interpret the signals to identify intended actions of creators or listeners, and to determine whether the intended actions would comply with each of the rules associated with the media program. The agents are also configured to identify and execute alternative actions as necessary.

Agents for monitoring live broadcasts for policy enforcement

During an episode of a media program, a creator of the media program requests that listeners join and participate in the episode. In reply, one or more listeners provide audio data to a control system of the media program, e.g., by speaking utterances that are captured by devices of the listeners. The audio data is processed to identify the users, and to determine attributes of the audio data, to identify words expressed in the audio data, and to determine features such as sentiments or opinions of the audio data. The listeners that provided the data are ranked or scored based on information regarding the respective listeners, the attributes of the audio data, or the words or sentiments. One or more of the listeners are recommended to the creator to be permitted to participate in the episode of the media program, or automatically joined in the episode.

Evaluating listeners who request to join a media program

Listeners to media programs provide feedback to creators or other entities associated with the media programs in the form of one or more spoken utterances. When a listener to a media program speaks one or more words to a microphone or other system, the words are captured and processed to determine an emotion of the listener, or to determine whether the words include any objectionable content. Data including the spoken words is captured and stored, and presented to the creator of the media program. Notifications of the utterances are provided to the creator, who may identify one of the utterances, and include the utterance in the media program, or invite the listener who provided the utterances to participate in the media program.
