A power generation system includes a combustion system, a liquid supply system, and a vapor supply system. The combustion system is configured to generate power by combusting an alternative fuel. The liquid supply system is configured to channel a liquid alternative fuel to the combustion system. The vapor supply system is configured to channel a vapor alternative fuel to the combustion system. The combustion system is ignited by combusting the liquid alternative fuel from the liquid supply system and is operated by combusting the vapor alternative fuel from the vapor supply system.

System and methods for igniting and operating a gas turbine engine with alternative fuels

A method for starting and operating a NMHC fueled gas turbine combined cycle power plant includes injecting gaseous NMHC fuel into a gaseous NMHC fuel treatment system, injecting at least one of auxiliary steam, HRSG steam, or HRSG water into the gaseous NMHC fuel treatment system, and mixing the at least one of auxiliary steam, HRSG steam, or HRSG water with the gaseous NMHC fuel in the NMHC fuel treatment system to form a gaseous NMHC fuel mixture. The method further includes injecting the gaseous NMHC fuel mixture into a gaseous NMHC fuel distribution system, and providing the gaseous NMHC fuel mixture through the gaseous NMHC fuel distribution system to a combustor of the NMHC fueled gas turbine.

Methods for startup and operation of gas turbine combined cycle power plants using NMHC fuels

A turbine engine comprising includes at least one combustor, a liquid fuel supply system, and a fuel additive injection system. The combustor is configured to combust liquid fuel. The liquid fuel supply system is configured to channel liquid fuel through at least one fuel line to the at least one combustor. The fuel additive injection system is coupled in fluid communication with the liquid fuel supply system. The fuel additive injection system includes a recirculation circuit configured to recirculate at least a portion of liquid fuel to the liquid fuel supply system. The fuel additive injection system is configured to channel chemical additive through the recirculation circuit for mixing with the at least a portion of liquid fuel to generate an additive fuel mixture configured to inhibit coke formation in the liquid fuel supply system.

A vaporization system for a liquid hydrocarbon for a combustion system of a gas turbine system is provided. The vaporization system includes: a vaporizer vessel; a pressure source providing a pressurized fluid to the vaporizer vessel; and a controller configured to control at least one control valve to: pre-elevate a pressure in the vaporizer vessel using the pressurized fluid from the pressure source prior to introduction of the liquid hydrocarbon to the vaporizer vessel to at least reduce vaporization of the liquid hydrocarbon in the vaporizer vessel, and control vaporization of the liquid hydrocarbon in the vaporizer vessel. A combustion system and kettle boiler system including aspects of the vaporization system are also disclosed.
