An electrical connector including a shell sized to receive and retain an electrically insulating housing insert, where the housing insert includes a cavity for receiving and retaining a wire-terminating electrical contact therein. The shell and housing insert each include a plurality of mating key features designed to provide a plurality of indexing positions for the housing insert, each index position defining an angular orientation of the housing insert relative to the shell to control a direction of the wiring exiting the electrical connector.

High power electrical connector

An electrical connector including an electrically conductive shell sized to receive and retain an electrically insulating housing insert, where the housing insert includes a cavity for receiving and retaining a wire-terminating electrical contact therein. The shell and housing insert each including keying features designed to cooperate with one another to resist independent rotation of the housing insert within the shell. The electrical connector further includes a wire sealing grommet coupled to the housing insert to improve connector performance and minimize arcing issues.

Electrical coax contact system

The disclosure relates to an electrical connector having an electrical contact assembly housed within a cavity of a connector shell. The contact assembly includes a contact housing with a core extending in an axial direction and a plurality of fins radiating outwardly from the core, each of the fins separating adjacent housing-receiving cavities from one another. In an assembled configuration, a first plurality of electrical contacts is housed within a first housing receiving cavity and a second plurality of electrical contacts is housed within a second housing receiving cavity, where the first and second plurality of electrical contacts are different in type and structure from one another such that the electrical connector accommodates multiple contact layouts to improve overall functionality.

Electrical connector with modular housing for accommodating various contact layouts

An electrical connector system includes mating pin and socket connectors each designed for improving the mechanical locking capabilities of the electrical connector system. A first connector includes a pin contact having a head portion with grooves formed thereon, and a second connector includes a cavity dimensioned for receiving the pin contact. A pair of channels are formed along an interior wall of the contact-receiving cavity, with a coiled spring seated within each of the channels. When the connectors are mated, one or both of the coiled springs engages one of the grooves of the head portion of the pin contact to latch the first and second connectors together in a locked configuration. The connector system may further include a removable collar that allows the pin to advance further into the contact-receiving cavity to urge the coiled springs into secondary grooves for facilitating decoupling of the connectors.
