A folding knife designed to be easily opened with one hand and having a thumb-actuated opening lever to pivot the blade from closed to opened positions. The thumb-actuated lever in a first preferred embodiment has an opening lever driving a sector gear that engages a drive gear for opening the blade. The opening lever remains within the plan-view outline of the knife body at all times. In another disclosed embodiment, the opening lever drives a cam which, in turn, causes a second lever to pivot within the body of the knife. Gear teeth on this second lever engage and rotate a blade drive gear, causing the blade to pivot between closed and opened positions. The opening lever in still another disclosed embodiment includes a thumb-operated slider having a cam surface engaging a follower to pivot a blade opening lever.

Lever-actuated folding knife

A knife of the type having a casing and a blade pivotably mounted thereto has an actuator button slidably mounted to the casing. The blade has a concentric wheel associated therewith. One end of a non-extensible linkage is connected to the actuator, and the opposite end of the non-extensible linkage is wrapped around a portion of the wheel. When the user exerts a force to slide the actuator, the user-exerted force is transmitted by the non-extensible linkage to rotate the wheel, thereby pivoting the blade from its closed position to its open position.

Knife opening mechanism

Device for concealing and locking in place a weapon such as in conjunction with an umbrella wherein the weapon can be unlocked and withdrawn at will. The weapon locking device is operated by manually releasing spring-biased locking pins which are frictionally interlocked with a portion of the weapon when it is disposed in its locked position.

Weapon concealment and locking means

A drum magazine for feeding cartridges to an automatic or semi-automatic firearm such as a carbine or the like. A spiral cartridge receiving channel is formed within the drum, and a magazine extension joins the drum to feed cartridges into the magazine-receiving receptacle of the firearm. A number of rotor arms extend across the cartridge receiving receptacle, and are biased to feed the cartridges there along. The rotor arms can be manually indexed backwardly, allowing cartridges to be loaded one-by-one through the open end of the magazine extension.

Drum magazine for carbines or the like

A cartridge feeding drum magazine for use with semiautomatic or full-automatic firearms such as pistols or submachine guns. A rotor is provided within a drum housing to define an annular cartridge-receiving channel, and a magazine extension joins the drum at 90.degree. thereto for insertion within the existing magazine receptacle of a firearm. The rotor, which is spring-biased for rotation, carries a separate magazine spring within a housing, so that the magazine spring remains enclosed while the rotor turns to feed cartridges. The magazine spring moves out of its housing to urge remaining cartridges through the magazine extension, after cartridge-feeding movement of the rotor is completed.
