An improved laboratory station uses a floor box and/or a service column to provide utilities. The floor box preferably provides a waterproof connection with a floor and the service column is installed prior to installation of a drop ceiling. A storage system is preferably utilized to store out of service components.

Inversion chair exercise device

An abdominal exercise device includes a first U-shaped frame member pivotally attached to a second U-shaped frame member. Each frame member includes a pair of spaced parallel legs and a cross section extending therebetween. A head rest is mounted on the cross section intermediate the legs of the first frame member. An adjustable pivot tube is telescopically mounted within each leg of the first frame member to adjust the length of the legs. The legs of the first and second frame members are pivotally attached to each other generally adjacent the free ends thereof. A pair of spaced flexible straps extend between the cross sections of the frame members. A spring-biased detent pin is mounted within the hollow interior of each of the legs of the first frame member and is selectively engaged in holes formed in the legs of the first frame member to provide linear adjustment to the first frame member. A user lies on a support surface between the frame members and the user's head is positioned on the head rest and the second frame member is grasped by the user. The free ends of the second frame member pivots on the support surface as the user performs a sit-up or an abdominal crunch. The device can be flipped upside-down and used to perform reverse crunches. The device is collapsible for compact and easy storage.

A low-impact aerobic exercise device includes a base which supports a generally vertically extending frame member and an angularly extending brace member. Two spaced levers are pivotally mounted to the vertical frame member and have pedals mounted on their outer ends for independent reciprocal pivotal movement when used as a stair-stepping type of exercise device. Two resilient elastomeric members are adjustably attached between the brace member and the two levers to provide vertical downward resistance when the user pivotally oscillates the levers in an up-and-down motion. A handle is attached to the vertical member for grasping by the user. An insert can be removably mounted between the lever pedals to provide a single continuous platform joining the two levers, enabling the lever to be used as a rebounding type of exercise device. The frame member is pivotally attached to the vertical frame member, enabling the device to be moved to a compact collapsed position for storage.

Low impact aerobic exercise device

An exercise device for performing a variety of resistance exercises for toning various parts of the body. A rigid one-piece frame member has a substantially 'H'-shaped configuration with a central support and two pairs of outwardly extending spaced parallel rails or leg members terminating in outer open ends. Elastic bands extend between the spaced rails and across the end openings. A user performs various arm and leg exercises by selectively pushing in or pulling out on the bands.

An exercise apparatus as described and includes a support, a lever arm pivotally mounted to the support adjacent a first lever end. An exercise fitting, such as handle bars and other linkages, are placed adjacent a second end of the lever arm for allowing pivoting of the lever arm. Weights are movable along the lever arm a distance between the first and second ends and such that the movement has a horizontal component with respect to the support. A motor is provided for moving the weights.

Weight-biased fitness machine

A weight lifting body exercising apparatus which includes an upstanding frame having a single upstanding pole-like member for supporting a vertically shiftable carriage. The carriage is adapted to receive weights as, for example, bar-bell type weights. The carriage is mounted on the pole-like member in such manner that only a very small amount of binding or frictional force is created through movement of the carriage. A body supporting bench is adapted to be removably attached to the frame in a plurality of positions so that the bench can be located at various angles and at various heights relative to the frame and the user thereof.

Weight lifting exercising apparatus

A weight lifting body exercising apparatus comprised of a base member and one or more beams forming an upstanding frame. A vertically shiftable movement against one or more weights which may be selectively introduced. The user of the apparatus effectively lifts the weight or weights by pulling on a cable connected to the weight or weights. In some cases, the user effectively lifts the weights by pulling on the cable and moving the carriage. A first pulley is mounted on the frame above the carriage and at a height generally above the height of the user. A second pulley is mounted at the base and is located forwardly of the first pulley. A third pulley is mounted on the frame at a height generally above the height of the user and located immediately vertically above the user. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, a fourth pulley is located on the carriage. The cable may be secured to the carriage or trained around the fourth pulley on the carriage. A handle mechanism, and preferably an adjustable handle mechanism, is associated with the carriage and engagable by a user to apply a force and thereby attempt to shift the carriage against the one or more weights.

Weight lifting exercising apparatus having a movable carriage

A body exercising apparatus, in the form of a weight lifting apparatus, which includes an elongate lever arm having first and second opposite ends. The first end of the lever arm is capable of being pivotally mounted to a supporting structure, and preferably a relatively vertically disposed wall. For this purpose, a mounting element is provided on the first end of the lever arm for pivotally mounting this lever arm to such relatively permanent structure and preferably such vertically disposed wall. A weight retaining rod, is operatively mounted on the lever arm and is capable of receiving conventional bar-bell type weights in selected amounts. A leg member is secured to the lever arm and extends downwardly therefrom so as to be engageable with a floor or similar horizontal surface to thereby control the lower most limit of movement of the lever arm. A handle member is located at the second end of the lever arm for engagement by the hands of a user of the apparatus so that this user can attempt to lift the lever arm about the pivotal connection with respect to the supporting structure against one or more weights placed on the weight retaining rod. In a more preferred aspect, the handle member is adjustably positionable with respect to the lever arm so as to accommodate the overall height of the user.

Pivoted weight lifting apparatus

A body exercising apparatus, in the form of a weight lifting apparatus, which includes an elongate lever arm having first and second opposite ends. The first end of the lever arm is capable of being pivotally mounted to a supporting structure, and preferably a relatively vertically disposed wall. For this purpose, a mounting element is provided on the first end of the lever arm for pivotally mounting this lever arm to such relatively permanent structure and preferably such vertically disposed wall. A weight retaining rod, is operatively mounted on the lever arm and is capable of receiving conventional bar-bell type weights in selected amounts. A leg member is secured to the lever arm and extends downwardly therefrom so as to be engageable with a floor or similar horizontal surface to thereby control the lower most limit of movement of the lever arm. A handle member is located at the second end of the lever arm for engagement by the hands of a user of the apparatus so this user can attempt to lift the lever arm about the pivotal connection with respect to the supporting structure against one or more weights placed on the weight retaining rod. In a more preferred aspect, the handle member is adjustably positionable with respect to the lever arm so as to accommodate the overall height of the user.
