Various constructs that absorb exudates and enhance browning and crisping of a food item during heating in a microwave oven are provided.

Absorbent microwave interactive packaging

A material trimmer including a base having a support surface and a cutting region having a channel. A plate is movably attached to the base and includes oppositely facing upper and lower surfaces, an elongated slot therethrough, an elevated portion proximate each side of the slot, and a distal second end with the elevated portion leading to an arcuate surface. A carrier includes a top flange having a pair of oppositely extending sides and a foot extending from the top flange. The foot is slidably received within the slot, and a portion of the pair of oppositely extending sides are arcuate in shape and slidably received within the arcuate surface of the elevated portion. A blade is attached to the carrier, a portion of which extends below the lower surface of the plate within the channel when the plate is disposed over the cutting region.

Paper trimmer

A device for cutting pieces of material comprising a base, a bridge assembly and a lever arm. The bridge assembly includes a gear assembly operatively connected to the base. The lever arm is coupled to the gear assembly, and a linking member is coupled to the gear assembly; A material clamp is operatively connected to the linking member, and a cutting blade is operatively connected to the linking member. The movement of the lever arm of the first position towards the second position results in the gear assembly and the linking member cooperating to cause the material clamp to move towards the base and affix the position of pieces of material located between the base and the material clamp. The cutting blade comes into contact with and severs the pieces of material after the position of the pieces of material has been fixed by the material clamp.

A shape cutting system for cutting a material having a surface. The shape cutting system includes a cutting unit and at least one template. The cutting unit includes a frame, a blade adjustment assembly and a blade assembly are coupled to the frame. The blade assembly is positioned at least partially within the frame such that a longitudinal axis of the blade assembly is substantially perpendicular to a lower support surface of the frame. The blade assembly includes a blade retainer and a blade connected to the retainer. The blade adjustment assembly is positioned on a neck which is rotatable relative to the frame. A user is capable of accessing and replacing the blade assembly without altering the position of the blade adjustment assembly relative to the neck.

A shape cutting system for cutting a material having a surface. The shape cutting system includes a cutting unit and at least one template. The cutting unit includes a frame, a blade adjustment assembly and a blade assembly are coupled to the frame. The blade assembly is positioned at least partially within the frame such that a longitudinal axis of the blade assembly is substantially perpendicular to a lower support surface of the frame. The blade assembly includes a blade retainer and a blade connected to the retainer. A rigid collar of the retainer is configured to operatively engage at least one of a periphery and the edge of an opening of the template thereby enabling the blade to cut a shape in the cutting material which assimilates the shape of at least a portion of the at least one of the periphery and the edge.

A shape cutting system for cutting a material having a surface. The shape cutting system includes a cutting unit and at least one template. The cutting unit includes a frame, a blade adjustment assembly and a blade assembly are couple to the frame. The blade assembly is positioned at least partially within the frame such that a longitudinal axis of the blade assembly is subtantially perpendicular to a lower support surface of the frame. The blade assembly includes a blade retainer and a blade connected to the retainer. The blade adjustment assembly is positioned on a neck which is rotatable relative to the frame. An envelope or package cutting system for cutting a material having a surface. The envelope cutting system includes a cutting unit and at least one template having the opening that is the shape of an unfolded envelope. The cutting unit includes a frame, a blade adjustment assembly and a blade assembly which are coupled to the frame. The blade assembly is positioned at least partially within the frame such that a longitudinal axis of the blade assembly is substantially perpendicular to a lower support surface of the frame. The blade assembly includes a blade retainer and a blade connected to the retainer. A rigid collar of the retainer is configured to operatively engage at least one of a periphery and the edge of the opening of the template thereby enabling the blade to cut a shape in the cutting material which assimilates the shape of an unfolded envelope.

A hand held rotary cutter comprising a first handle including a head at one end thereof for receiving a blade and a second handle pivotally connected to the first handle. The second handle includes a rotating member at one end thereof. The rotating member rotates into and out of alignment with the head of the first handle to guard the blade. A spring biases the first and second handles to an open position, and a latch is mounted on one of the first and second handles and movable between an unlocked position and a locked position. The latch is engageable with a member on the other of the first and second handles. When the latch is in the unlocked position, the first handle and the second handle are fixed in position relative to each other.

A rotary cutter includes an elongated handle having a gripping portion connected to a platform having a peripheral edge. A generally circular blade is rotatably mounted on a shaft extending through an aperture formed in the platform. The cutter also includes a blade guard having an arcuate portion. The guard is rotatable by the user to expose the cutting edge of the blade prior to using the cutter.

A rotary cutter including a handle, a cylindrical head formed on one end of the handle and having a planar surface on each side, the handle and head having an interval cavity, an actuating member mounted in the cavity in the handle and head, a blade support formed on the actuating member for movement between a storage position and one of two operating positions with respect to the head, a spring mounted on the actuating member for biasing the actuating member to ta storage position and a latch assembly formed in the actuating member for electively locking the actuating member in one of the two operating positions.
