The foldable rotor blades (12) of a helicopter are automatically adjusted to pitch angles where they can be locked as a prerequisite to folding by commands generated (98, 112) to cause trim actuators (39-41) to drive swash plate servos (17-19) to the correct positions, initially (98) in response to stored trim references (120) and eventually (112) in response to the difference (109) between stored swash plate servo positions (120) and current servo positions (20-22).

Automatic lock-positioning of foldable helicopter blades

A helicopter has main rotor blades foldable over its tail cone and a tail rotor pylon which is foldable about a tail cone vertical hinge from its fore-and-aft flight position through an angle approaching 180.degree. to lie alongside the tail cone. Tail rotor pitch control mechanism includes a cable which extends across the foldable hinged members, direction change pulleys for the cable and an improved 4-bar linkage system which controls the movement of the pulleys within a small envelope circle and maintains a constant tension on the cable throughout the full fold cycle.

A fluidically controlled cargo hook control system for use with aircraft including a fluidic circuit actuatable so that the cargo hook can be opened at pilot command during the pilot command mode of operation, so that the cargo hook will automatically open upon cargo touch-down during the automatic touch-down mode of operation, so that the pilot may override the automatic touch-down system to open the cargo hook at his command during the automatic touch-down mode of operation, and so that the entire fluidic system can be placed in the safe-mode condition so that neither automatic touch-down input nor pilot input can open the cargo hook.
