An orthopedic instrument for insertion of an orthopedic device into an intramedullary canal of a bone is disclosed. The orthopedic instrument can include an elongate post and a stud. The post can have a longitudinal axis and can extend along the longitudinal axis between a first end portion and a second end portion. The stud can be connected to the post along a portion of a longitudinal length thereof comprising a first end part, A second part of the stud can be free to elastically deflect laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis when subjected to a bending load and return to a first position when unloaded.

A protective cable cover separates cable routing from patchcords and cross-connect wire in a wiring trough, and includes a printed wiring board that provides a means for mounting electronic circuitry and components. The cable cover is placed over the cable conductors on a wiring block cable organizer. A circuit designation strip and row marking pads are provided to designate rows and circuit connections. A strike engages a latch on a patchcord plug to releasably retain the plug in engagement with the wiring block. Mounting holes are formed integral with the cable cover to engage latches on the cable organizer for releasably mounting the cable cover on the cable organizer.

A wiring block mounting bracket for mounting a conductor termination array and wiring block on an industry standard 19 inch Terminal Frame System. For telecommunications and data management systems, the wiring block mount allows the mounting of one to four termination arrays only, without the need for a back panel.

A connector block assembly comprises a connector block body, a conductor element, and an alignment comb, which attaches to the connector block body via a snap-lock assembly. The snap-lock assembly simultaneously locks the three elements, the connector block body, the conductor element, and the alignment comb, securely together at the time of assembly.

A twenty eight pair cabling system comprises a conductor termination array having twenty-eight pairs of termination ports. The termination array is able to engage seven four-pair cable conductors and seven four-pair connecting blocks. Row marking surfaces have been moved, making room for expanding the prior art termination array by three port pairs. The termination array and cable organizer assembly is the same length as the old wiring block, resulting in increased wiring density.

A wiring block for telecommunications and data management has a combination cable organizer for routing cabling and conductor termination array for wiring connections. A conductor termination array is mounted on the upper edge of a plate. Guide walls extend across the plate front surface, defining channels for directing the cable conductors across the plate front surface for retaining the cable conductors. The cable conductors are sheathed up to the termination array.

A cable management system includes an adapter plate disposed between a panel and a cabling component, such as a wiring block or wiring trough. The adapter plate includes a first plurality of fasteners and a first plurality of alignment pins extending orthogonally from a first surface, and second plurality of fasteners and a second plurality of alignment pins extending orthogonally from a second surface. The first plurality of fasteners engage tabs formed on the panel and the second plurality of fasteners engage features formed on the cabling component. The first plurality of alignment pins are disposed to engage alignment apertures formed in the panel. The second plurality of alignment pins are disposed to engage alignment apertures formed in the cabling component. The adapter plate can include an abutment portion disposed to abut the panel and cooperate with the first plurality of fasteners to position the adapter plate relative to the panel. The adapter plate can also include integrally molded cabling components to reduce the number of piece parts required for installation of a cabling system.

A reverse-engaging patchcord plug has a rearward-facing connector channel, and is used in connection with a wiring block assembly. A cover pivots between two positions. In the first position covering the channel, the hook-shaped channel will not snag on the wiring while being pulled out of troughs. A detent releasably retains the cover in the first position. In the second position uncovering the channel, the plug will engage the connecting block to allow signals to be conducted between them. A latch is attached to the plug. With the cover in the second position, the latch has a hook that engages a strike attached to the wiring block assembly for retaining the plug on the wiring block assembly. The latch is resilient, requiring minimal applied force to secure and release.

Snag-resistant patchcord plug latch and cover

This invention deals with a method of assembling first and second connectors at the ends of a cable including twisted pairs of color encoded wires, first ends of two wires of one of the twisted wire pairs are connected, preferably at random, to a dedicated pair of tip and ring contacts of the first connector. The second ends of the two wires of the one wire pair are connected, at random, to two intermediate contacts of the second connector. Each intermediate contact is connected by a pair of conductive paths to both of the tip and ring contacts of the second connector dedicated to the one wire pair. Afterwards, in reliance upon a visual determination of how the two wires are actually connected to the tip and ring contacts of the first connector and to the intermediate contacts of the second connector, one conductive path from each of the intermediate contacts is opened for exclusively interconnecting, via the two wires of the one wire pair, the tip and ring contacts of the first connector to respective tip and ring contacts of the second connector.

Anti-snag patchcord plug latch and cover

An adjustable modular panel for partially housing data carrying cables and facilitating connection between the cables and communication equipment. The modular panel includes first and second panel portions, each having an engaging edge for mating with each other and for forming between the first and second portions a trough having an area in which the cables are at least partially housed. A fastening device in the panel portions is releasably operable to secure the two panel portions together. Each panel further includes a mounting surface to which connection devices are mountable. In a preferred embodiment, a third panel having a pair of engaging edges is disposed between the first and second panel portions so that the engaging edges of the third panel mate with the engaging edges of the first and second panel portions, thereby expanding the trough area to accommodate an increased number of cables and/or cables having increased dimensions.

Adjustable modular panel

A rigidizing cover plate for a printed circuit board mounted terminal block eliminating the instability of a 110D terminal block when it is mounted on the printed circuit board. The cover plate is a one piece injection molded polycarbonate plate that can be color coordinated to augment the existing 110D terminal blocks. The cover plate is formed with a plurality of apertures to enable the craftsperson to access the 110D terminal blocks that are mounted on the printed circuit board. The apertures formed in the cover plate contact the base of the corresponding 110D terminal block and provide lateral support for the terminal block to prevent movement of the terminal block with respect to the printed circuit board. The cover plate, when secured to the printed circuit board, functions not only as a stabilizer, but also as a protective shroud for the printed wiring board traces. The cover plate can be attached to a corresponding cover plate located on the back side of the printed circuit board, which additional cover plate functions as a stand-off for the printed wiring board sub-assembly. The cover plate can also be used for additional product labeling.

Connectors, such as 110-type patch plugs, are designed to reduce near-end crosstalk that is generated when the connector is mated to a corresponding receptacle, such as a 110-type connecting block. Connectors of the present invention employ a two-stage crosstalk compensation scheme in which a first stage induces a compensating crosstalk signal, having opposite polarity as the original crosstalk signal, while the second stage induces a counter-balancing crosstalk signal, having same polarity as the original crosstalk signal. The two-stage, counter-balanced crosstalk compensation scheme of the present invention takes into account both the magnitude of the original crosstalk signal as well as the phase differences between the original crosstalk signal and the compensating and counter-balancing crosstalk signals that result from the different locations along the signal path at which the crosstalk signals are induced. The contacts of the connector are designed such that the magnitudes and locations of the compensating and counter-balancing crosstalk signals provide effective crosstalk compensation over a particular range of frequencies, e.g., 1 MHz to 200 MHz.
