An extremely lightweight and compact heating system greatly increasing patient mobility is provided. The use of a flat plate can be used to greatly decrease package size and weight while providing comparable heat transfer by exploiting the ability of the dialysis bags to conform to this surface and through the greater heating area possible with the flat plate design. A short rim around the plate provides centering and protecting against minor leakage without substantially increasing package height. Protection against leakage is buttressed by sealing the rim to the plate and the use of 12 V only within the heating unit. The result is a lightweight warming device with a short that can be easily transported by the patient greatly improving patient lifestyle and freedom.

Modular warming system for dialysis fluid

An auxiliary sensor can be used to measure the temperature of individual products in a heating cabinet. By arranging the temperature sensor with respect to the low mass thermal conductors and insulators, the sensor can be focused on the product to obtain the proper temperature irrespective of the immediate environment whether it is at room temperature or even within the heating cabinet.

Medical liquid warmer with auxiliary temperature sensor

A data logging module and a method of monitoring a medical warming cabinet is disclosed. A temperature of the heating chamber and a state of a door of the heating chamber are sampled at predetermined intervals and recorded as data packets on a memory device. A display may provide a message when the memory device is reaching capacity. Moreover, a selected of the data packets may be analyzed (such as the data packets excluding the data packets when the door is open) for the generation of a report. The data packets from the memory device may be transferred from the memory device to an external memory device as necessary.

Data logger

A heating system is disclosed including a cabinet, at least one heating pad subassembly, and a plurality of couplings. The cabinet has walls defining an interior heating chamber. The heating pad subassembly is disposed on an exterior surface of the walls of the cabinet and includes a heating element and a plurality of openings formed there through. The plurality of couplings includes a plurality of coupling first portions disposed on the exterior surface of the walls and a plurality of coupling second portions coupled to the plurality of coupling first portions. At least a portion of the plurality of couplings extend through the plurality of openings in the heating pad subassembly, thereby coupling the heating pad subassembly to the cabinet.

Multi-zone heating system

A fluid warmer is disclosed. The fluid warmer includes a support surface, a heating element configured to selectively heat the support surface, and a switch assembly extending through the support surface. The switch assembly includes a switch, a movable switch plate, and a thermocouple. The switch has at least two states, one of which indicates the presence of an item on the support surface. The movable switch plate operably links to the switch to move the switch between the states and further includes a contact surface that contacts an item placed on the support surface. One or more thermocouples are embedded in the movable switch plate below the contact surface. The movable switch plate comprises a material having a thermal conductivity that permits the thermocouple(s) embedded in the switch plate to measure a temperature of an item placed on the support surface within a predetermined period of time.

Fluid warmer with switch assembly

A heating system is disclosed including a cabinet having walls defining an interior heating chamber. Sensors are attached to an exterior surface of the walls. Heating pad subassemblies are attached to the exterior surface of the walls with each heating pad subassemblies located adjacent a corresponding sensor. The heating pad subassemblies include a pad having an attachment face coupled to the exterior surface of the walls and a heating element coupled to the pad. A controller is in electrical communication with the heating elements and the sensors. This controller is configured to independently monitor temperate measurements from each of the sensors and to independently control each of the heating elements. The heating pad subassemblies are positionable on the exterior side of the plurality of walls and the heating system compensates for load variations across the interior heating chamber.

A medical warming cabinet and a method of installing a controller into a medical warming cabinet is disclosed that allows for easy transfer of operation parameters between controllers. Should a controller fail, the removable memory device can be removed from the failed controller and inserted into the replacement controller. This provides the benefits of a generic controller (e.g., low cost and good availability), but eliminates the tedious and costly necessity of having to reprogram the controller during maintenance.

The present invention provides a modular fluid warmer and a method of stacking a plurality of modular fluid warmers. As each of the modular fluid warmers is independently operated, the modular fluid warmers are energy efficient. Further, each modular fluid warmer may be equipped with sensors and a controller that reduces the required amount of user interaction with the modular fluid warmer.

An oven includes a housing forming a cooking compartment defining an interior of the oven. A water supply line extends through the housing to position an end behind a fan within the cooking compartment. The fan is arranged within the cooking compartment near the water supply line to create a low pressure area about the end of the water supply line to draw water through the water supply line and into the fan.

System and method for supplying water to an oven

A system for reducing discharges from an oven prior to opening an oven door. In particular, the system includes a housing forming a cooking compartment arranged within the oven. The system also includes a purge passage extending through the housing into the cooking compartment and a cover arranged over a portion of the purge passage to removeably block the purge passage. An expelling port is included that extends from the cooking compartment through the housing. A controller is configured to remove the cover from blocking the purge passage to inject air into the cooking compartment through the purge passage and displace substances within the cooking compartment through the expelling port.

System and method for limiting the escape of heat and steam from an open oven door

A combination oven for the preparation of food has a cooking chamber containing heating elements, a fan and an atomizer for radiant, convective or steam cooking. The humidity within the cooking chamber is controlled by a water valve and either by forcing dry air into the cooking chamber and venting the humid air or by using a pressure box. Without any moving parts, the pressure box controls air exchange of the cooking chamber according to the level of water within the pressure box and the pressure in the cooking chamber. The oven has a condensate tank to collect condensation drained from the cooking chamber. The pressure box and condensate tanks form water barriers effectively isolating the cooking chamber from the vent and drain during cooking until venting is required.
