The invention includes an electrified framework system having a plurality of grid members which form a grid framework. A conductive material is disposed on a surface of at least one of the plurality of grid members as shown throughout the drawings. The system includes connectors which provide low voltage power connections. For example, the connectors bring power from a power supply to the conductive material disposed on the grid framework and/or the connectors provide electrical connections between the conductive material on the grid framework and various devices.

A connector for electrical connection to an electrified grid element having first and second conductors disposed on a top portion of the grid element. In one embodiment, the connector comprises a single-piece insulator housing; a fastening means on the insulator housing for attaching the connector to a device; and first and second contacts within the insulator housing, the insulator housing configured to align the first and second contacts with the first and second conductors of the electrified grid element; wherein a base of the insulator housing comprises a recess that corresponds to the shape of the top portion of the grid element such that the housing can be mounted over the top portion of the grid member.

Connectors for electrically active grid

An electrified framework system for bringing power and/or signal to electrically powered devices is provided. The system includes at least one longitudinally extending electrified bus bar. The bus bar has a housing which includes a pair of conductors positioned therein. Each conductor has a mating surface which provides a continuous conductive path for attachment of devices. The system also includes a means to bring electricity to the conductors without interfering with the mating surface of the conductors and thereby creating an unavailable point for electrical connection.

This invention provides a seal retention member (21,66) for use in an electrical connector. The seal retention member (21,66) has a plurality of wire receiving passages (37) and a latch arm (90) which forms part of a peripheral surface (86) and part of at least one of the wire receiving passages (37).

The present invention is related to a network interface device 10 and a network interface module 50 for mounting therein. The network interface device 10 features two covers 12, 32. The first cover 32 restricts access to the service provider section of the device, and the second cover 12 covers both the service provider section 24 and the subscriber section 22. The network interface module 50 is profiled to span between the subscriber section 22 and the service provider section 24 so as to eliminate the need for separate components in each section.

Network interface device

The invention comprises a power tap connector of the type for terminating by insulation displacement a pair of conductors. The connector includes a housing for receiving at least a pair of upstanding IDC terminals. A pivotally mounted conductor wire carrier has front and rear faces arranged on the housing. The wire carrier is pivotal from a first conductor unterminated position to a second conductor terminated position. The wire carrier has a conductor receiving opening extending from the front face to the rear face for each the IDC terminal. An IDC terminal receiving slot is in communication with each opening, whereby an insulated conductor may be positioned for termination to a corresponding IDC terminal within the opening by entry thereto through either the front face or the rear face.

Power tap network connector

This invention relates to a monitoring arrangement for a hanging file folder for identifying information contained in an electronic file folder locator system. A hanging file folder, as known in the art, includes a pair of laterally extending support bars along a pair of upper edges of the file folder wherein each upper edge is formed with a channel for holding a respective support bar, and the file folder is formed with a plurality of apertures into one of the upper edge channels at a plurality of spaced locations along that channel. The monitoring arrangement comprises a pair of parallel, substantially horizontal, support rails spaced apart within a file cabinet to suspend the file folder therebetween. Further, there is provided a file folder label holder containing an addressable switch and a memory storing identifying information unique to the file folder, the label holder having a tab adapted to extend into a file folder upper edge aperture for mounting the label holder to the file folder, and a first pair of conductive lines extending along at least one of the support rails and adapted for connection to a communications bus of the electronic file folder locator system. Finally, a second pair of conductive lines are provided to extend along the one support bar within its channel of the file folder having the plurality of apertures, the second pair of conductive lines being located on the one support bar for contact with respective ones of the first pair of conductive lines when the file folder is supported on the pair of support rails, and circuitry within the label holder coupled to the addressable switch and the memory.

Monitoring arrangement for electronic file folder locator system

The invention comprises an electrical connector with a clamp member having two opposing channels for receiving conductors therein. The channels extend longitudinally along a length of the clamp member. The opposing channels are connected together by an intermediate portion. The intermediate portion has a web and an inner loop to provide inherent resiliency in the clamp member. The connector also has a wedge member to be received within the clamp member between the opposed channels. The wedge member is driven within the clamp member in a lateral direction by a bolt. The bolt connects the clamp member to the wedge member.

Electrical distribution system connector

The invention comprises an electrical connector having a central member with a first securing portion. A pair of jaws extend from the central member. A conical member has a hollow interior and a second securing portion. The second securing portion engaging the first securing portion and the jaws being received within the hollow interior whereby as the securing portions are tightened together, the jaws are pushed together in order to grip a conductor therebetween.

Mechanical splice connector for cable

The invention comprises a sealing grommet having a body made of an elastomeric material. The body has two halves to be assembled together in a sealing arrangement. The halves have a cable receiving opening extending therethrough from one side to another side. The opening has an outer diameter with a series of pliable webs extending inwardly into the opening to form a cable receiving channel. The webs in a center of the halves are larger and extend further into the opening than the webs along the sides of the halves thereby making the channel narrower in the center of the halves than along the sides of the halves to enable a sealing relationship to be formed about a variety of cable sizes.

Grommet for a fiber optic enclosure

An enclosure (10) having a pair of covers (12,14) fastenable together to close about and seal a cable splice (200,300) between end portions of a pair of multiconductor shielded cables (202,204;302,304) in either a butt-splice or in-line arrangement. A pair of routing channels (24,26) are provided at a first end (20) and a single routing channel (28) at the second end (22), with a splice-receiving region (90) provided adjacent inner ends (44,46,50) of the routing channels. A grounding region (100) between inner ends of the routing channels (24,26,28) includes a ground contact (102) having two pairs of cable-receiving slots (110,112;114,116) each pair being aligned with a respective routing channel for ends of respective cables to be received thereinto with at least one of the slots engaging an exposed shield portion of the cable.
