A free flowing phosphate-free high bulk density particulate heavy duty laundry detergent is comprised of particles of spray dried base beads containing ion exchanging zeolite, sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate into which is absorbed a nonionic detergent. The product is made by spray drying an aqueous mixture of the zeolite, carbonate and bicarbonate, optionally with soluble silicate present too, decomposing some of the bicarbonate to carbonate during the drying operation and mixing nonionic detergent in liquid form with the spray dried base beads produced and absorbing such detergent into such beads.

High bulk density particulate heavy duty laundry detergent

A free flowing phosphate-free high bulk density particulate heavy duty nonionic laundry detergent is comprised of particles of spray dried base beads containing ion exchanging zeolite and sodium carbonate with which is mixed a particulate water soluble sodium silicate and into which is absorbed a nonionic detergent. The product is made by spray drying an aqueous mixture or slurry of the zeolite and carbonate, mixing with the beads produced a water soluble silicate powder such as hydrous sodium silicate of Na.sub.2 O:SiO.sub.2 ratio of about 1:2 and mixing nonionic detergent in liquid form with the mixture of spray dried base beads and silicate powder and absorbing the nonionic detergent into said mixture.

High bulk density carbonate-zeolite built heavy duty nonionic laundry

A free flowing, phosphate free high bulk density particulate heavy duty laundry detergent is prepared by spray-drying an aqueous slurry of ion-exchanging detergent building zeolite particles, sodium carbonate and sodium silicate which has been sheared to reduce the viscosity thereof, followed by mixing nonionic detergent in liquid form with the spray-dried base beads to absorb the detergent into the beads.

A container for dispensing predetermined quantities of fluid comprising a closed end body adapted to contain a supply of fluid with a side wall opening adjacent the top of the body when the container is upright and a hollow combined metering and handle member fixed at one end to the body at the side opening and extending outwardly and downwardly with respect to the body and then upwardly to terminate in a dispensing opening disposed above the level of the body side opening when the container is upright, so that when the container is tilted in one direction from upright position to dispose the body side opening at the underside of the body fluid is displaced from the body to provide a predetermined quantity of fluid in the hollow member and when the container is tilted in the opposite direction from the upright position to dispose the body side opening at the upper side of the container body and the dispensing opening below horizontal all of the fluid will be dispensed from the hollow member while no fluid will enter the hollow member from the body.
