A method for spinal cord stimulation treatment includes positioning eight implantable electrodes to a dura matter in an epidural space proximate to a subject's spinal cord so that (i) a first circuit is created between a first and second electrode on a first channel, (ii) a second circuit is created between a third and fourth electrode on a second channel, (iii) a third circuit is created between a fifth and sixth electrode on a third channel, and (iv) a fourth circuit is created between a seventh and eighth electrode on a fourth channel, transmitting signals through the first and second circuits that interfere to produce a first beat signal, transmitting signals through the third and fourth circuits that interfere to produce a second beat signal, and interaction of the first and second beat signals results in a combined beat signal proximate to the subject's spinal cord.

Spinal cord stimulation with interferential current using multiple beat signals

An example method for spinal cord stimulation treatment includes positioning eight implantable electrodes to a dura matter in an epidural space proximate to a subject's spinal cord so that (i) a first circuit is created between a first and second electrode on a first channel, (ii) a second circuit is created between a third and fourth electrode on a second channel, (iii) a third circuit is created between a fifth and sixth electrode on a third channel, and (iv) a fourth circuit is created between a seventh and eighth electrode on a fourth channel, transmitting signals through the first and second circuits that interfere to produce a first beat signal, transmitting signals through the third and fourth circuits that interfere to produce a second beat signal, and interaction of the first and second beat signals results in a combined beat signal proximate to the subject's spinal cord.

A stimulator and a method using electrical stimulation of a spinal cord, for providing positive regulation of multiple symptoms other than pain is disclosed. An example method includes positioning a first pair of implantable electrodes to a dura matter in an epidural space proximate to a subject's spinal cord at predetermined locations, positioning a second pair of implantable electrodes to the dura matter in the epidural space proximate to the subject's spinal cord at predetermined locations, and transmitting signals of first and second frequencies through the first and second pairs of implantable electrodes respectively, so that the signals of the first and second frequencies interfere with each other to produce at least one beat signal proximate to the subject's spinal cord. The at least one beat signal has a frequency within a range of more than 250 Hz to about 15,000 Hz.

Spinal cord stimulation with interferential current

A stimulator and a method for the treatment of intractable pain syndromes by electrical stimulation of the spinal cord is disclosed in which implantable electrodes positioned around a targeted area of the spinal cord transmit an interferential current that has a base medium frequency alternating current between 500 Hz-20 KHz. A digital signal processor generates a sine-wave-like waveform from a pulse generator which after further processing is used to generate at least two circuits for use in producing the beat frequency signal. An effective area of stimulation is controlled by the quantity of electrodes, positioning of the electrodes and electrode cross pattern orientation. Amplitude modulation of electrical circuits created at the electrode placements also augments the effective area of stimulation. The stimulator and method reduce accommodation of the body to the electrical stimulation and provide deeper penetration of the resultant signal.

An example method includes sending a muscle stimulation current treatment signal to one or more electrodes. The muscle stimulation current treatment signal alternates between on-off states. The method further includes sending, while the muscle stimulation current treatment signal is off, an interferential current treatment signal to the one or more electrodes.

Methods and systems for intersperse pain treatment

A CFS system includes self-adhesive, disposable pads. Each pad is combined with a sealed, cleanable battery/controller pod and then placed on the body where needed. The battery/controller pod preferably has wireless capability, such as Bluetooth&#xae; capability. The patient can download an application to a smartphone or similar mobile device to control the pods.

An apparatus and method for improving mobility and/or the quality of synovial fluid of an affected articular joint are disclosed, wherein the joint is associated with at least a first muscle group and at least a second muscle group each having an antagonistic relationship for effecting mobility of the joint through a range of motion when recruited by natural neural impulses. An electro-medical device is configured to apply motor-level electrical stimulation in a multiphasic pattern via at least a first channel and at least a second channel. An applicator is worn on the articular segment such that the at least two first electrodes and the at least two second electrodes are disposed between the applicator and the articular segment and reduces compressive forces on at least one compartment of the affected joint.

Apparatus and method for stabilizing, improving mobility, and controlling cartilage matrix degradation of weight-bearing articular joints

A method for improving mobility and/or the quality of synovial fluid of an affected articular joint, wherein the joint is associated with at least a first muscle group and at least a second muscle group each having an antagonistic relationship for effecting mobility of the joint through a range of motion when recruited by natural neural impulses. The method includes positioning at least two first electrodes proximate to the at least first muscle group, positioning at least two second electrodes proximate to the at least second muscle group, and applying motor-level electrical stimulation to the at least first and second muscle groups via the at least two first and second electrodes in a multiphasic pattern corresponding to a sequence of electromyographic outputs.
