A connector is employed for bonding a locatable tracer wire with a lead wire. A base has a first receiving slot and an axial slot which intersects the receiving slot. A contact plate is slidably receivable in the axial slot and is dimensioned to accommodate a tracer wire and an insulator cover received in the receiving slot at a first axial position and to sever the cover and conductively engage the tracer at a second axial position. A fastener threadably engages the base. Upon tightening the fastener to the base, a shoulder extending from the contact plate is displaced and ultimately stopped so that the plate is disposed at the second position. The lead wire is also secured by the fastener.

Locatable duct tracer wire bonding connector

A strain relief for a buffer tube employs a plurality of spline-like grippers which are angularly positionable about the buffer tube. The grippers each have an outwardly projecting retainer loop. A cable tie having a strap is passed through the loops and through a one-way catch to secure the spline-like grippers to the buffer tube. The ends of the grippers function as an engagement end to prevent the buffer tube from pulling back from an enclosure.

A fiber optic external shield connector for grounding a fiber optic cable. The external shield connector is irreversibly mounted to the fiber optic cable using traditional tools. Prongs on the inside of the shield connector puncture the outer non-conductive sheath of the fiber optic cable. The external shield connector is compatible with fiber optics cables having different diameters. The prongs are arranged to complement the geometry of the fiber optic cables for the specific application. The prongs contact an inner conductive sheath of the cable and connect the conductive sheath electrically to an outside ground. This engagement does not expose the internal portions of the fiber optic cable to outside elements such as moisture.

Fiber optic cable external shield connector

A break-away hook assembly is adapted for installation for use with a low-voltage residential communication cable. A pair of members is coupled. One of the members has a connector with a terminal portion which receives a terminus of the other member. The connector breaks to release the second member from coupled engagement with the first member so that upon application of a stress in excess of a pre-established load, the cable will sag while maintaining the communication integrity of the cable.

Break-away hook assembly

A hot line clamp employs a pair of jaw members which have clamp surfaces. The jaw members are coupled under the load of a compression spring. One jaw member has a ring which allows for relative angular positioning so that a clamp surface of the jaw member engages a shoulder of the second jaw member in a cocked position. When a torque is applied to the ring, the clamp members snap together to clamp over a hot line disposed between the clamp surfaces.

A subgrade vault with a latching cover. The vault includes a peripheral wall with an open access port at the top. A peripheral ledge surrounds the access port. A cover to close the access port fits inside it, with a latch assembly inside it and a retractable latch pin disposed to fit in an aperture in the peripheral ledge. The latch pin is retractable by the stabbing motion of a tapered tool against a cam surface on the latch pin. The cover is locked in place merely by pressing down on it.

A connector for locate wires employs a platform which has a plurality of angularly spaced wire apertures. A conductive wire stripper member has a plurality of slots corresponding to said apertures and is angularly positionable between closed and open positions. Locate wires may be connected by inserting the wires into the apertures when the wire member is in an open position and electrically connected by angularly pivoting the conductive member to the closed position. A ground connector provides a ground connection for the connector to ground the locate wires.

A meter box ground clamp for clamping a ground wire to a metallic meter box includes a clamp body, a pressure bar, a floating nut, a bolt member and a ground engagement bolt. The clamp body has a base segment and first and second leg segments, each of the leg segments having a laterally extending extension segment for engaging the exterior surface of the meter box drip cap. The pressure bar extends through a slot in the clamp body base segment and has a front segment, disposed below the clamp body extension segments, having a laterally extending groove forming a lip at the pressure bar front end. The floating nut extends through the clamp body base segment slot and includes a front portion having a threaded, vertically extending bore. The bolt member is threadably engaged with the bore of the floating nut front portion for driving the lip of the pressure bar front segment into the meter box overlap joint to electrically connect the ground clamp to the meter box. The threaded shaft of the ground engagement bolt is received within a threaded opening of the pressure bar back segment to clamp a ground wire positioned within a bore of the pressure bar segment.

Meter box ground clamp

A bracket assembly for mounting a terminal housing in an utility enclosure which includes a base and a rotator arm. The base has a pair of laterally spaced side walls forming a gap for receiving the rotator arm. At least a part of the rear end portion of each base side wall may be mounted to the utility enclosure. The rotator arm has a longitudinally extending mounting member and first and second laterally spaced side walls which extend from the mounting member. The mounting member may be mounted to the terminal housing. Each arm side wall also has a mounting tab which extends outwardly into an opening in the adjacent base side wall to mount the rotator arm within the base such that the rotator arm may be rotated between an upright position and an inclined position. Each arm side wall has an outwardly extending locking tab which is received in a notch in the top portion of the adjacent base side wall to lock the rotator arm in the upright position. The mounting tabs engage the lower edge of the openings of the base side walls and the mounting member of the rotator arm engages wings which extend inwardly from the base side walls to support the rotator arm when the rotator arm is in the inclined position.

Bracket assembly for utility enclosure

A flexible bond harness including a flexible ground subassembly and a rigid ground subassembly which are joined together by a barrel connector. The flexible ground assembly has a first terminal connector which is mounted to the distal end portion of a substantially flexible conductor and the rigid ground assembly has a second terminal connector which is mounted to the distal end portion of a substantially rigid conductor. The barrel connector has a substantially uniform thickness, first and second side walls, a base and is divided into first and second segments. The proximal end portion of the flexible conductor is positioned within the first segment and the proximal end portion of the rigid conductor is positioned within the second segment. The first and second segments of the barrel connector are simultaneously crimped onto the flexible and rigid conductors, respectively, forming a bond which prevents relative motion between the barrel connector and the flexible and rigid conductors.

Flexible bond harness and manufacturing method therefor

A mast clamp assembly including a strap, a drop wire clamp, and a hook. The ribbon-like strap forms a loop which engages a utility pole or mast. The drop wire clamp includes a clamp for clamping to the drop wire and a loop which engages the hook. The hook includes a back wall and first and second side walls. The loop of the drop wire is received in loop mounting slots in the side walls and engages a protrusion on each side wall. Each side wall also has a strap mounting opening having a triangular-shaped lower portion and a rectangular-shaped upper portion. The hook is mounted on the strap by inserting the strap, bottom edge first, through a slot in the back wall into the lower portion of the strap mounting openings and rotating the hook around the strap such that the upper edge of the strap rotates into the upper portion of the strap mounting opening and the strap engages the hook back wall.
