Active clearance control ejector systems and methods are disclosed. An example system may include an air ejector; an entrance pipe arranged to supply compressor bleed air to the air ejector; an inlet duct arranged to supply fan bypass air to the air ejector; and a supply pipe arranged to receive ejector outlet air from the air ejector and supply the ejector outlet air to an active clearance control system. The ejector outlet air may include a mixture of the compressor bleed air and the fan bypass air. The air ejector may include a venturi arranged to conduct the compressor bleed air therethrough, thereby drawing the fan bypass air into the air ejector.

System and method for active clearance control

A turbine flowpath apparatus is provided for a gas turbine engine having a centerline axis. The apparatus includes: an annular flowpath member of low-ductility material, the flowpath member having a flowpath surface and an opposed back surface, and having a cross-sectional shape comprising a generally cylindrical forward section and an aft section that extends aft and radially outward at a non-perpendicular, non-parallel angle to the centerline axis; an annular stationary structure surrounding the flowpath member; and an annular centering spring disposed between the stationary structure and the flowpath member, the centering spring urging the flowpath member towards a centered position within the stationary structure.

A vane includes a composite airfoil having a single dovetail root extending chordwise between or near leading and trailing edges of the airfoil. The root is connected to the airfoil and is slidably received in a dovetail slot in an inner vane mount. The dovetail slot has a triangular slot cross section and a flat slot bottom and flat slot pressure and suction side crush faces corresponding to pressure and suction sides of the airfoil. The root has a triangular root cross section, a flat root bottom, and flat dovetail root pressure and suction side crush faces. A biasing means urges the root bottom of the dovetail root away from the slot bottom and presses and preloads the dovetail root pressure and suction side crush faces against the slot pressure and suction side slot crush faces.

A vane includes a composite airfoil having chordwise spaced apart forward and aft dovetail feet at or near leading and trailing edges of the airfoil. Each foot includes a shank connecting a dovetail root to an airfoil base and each root is slidably received in a dovetail slot in an inner vane mount. The dovetail slot has a triangular slot cross section and a flat slot bottom and flat slot pressure and suction side crush faces corresponding to pressure and suction sides of the airfoil. The dovetail root having a triangular root cross section and a flat root bottom and flat dovetail root pressure and suction side crush faces.
