Proximal flow sensor

Various methods, apparatuses, and systems for improving sensitivity and performance of a flow sensing apparatus are provided. The flow sensing apparatus includes: a housing defining an inlet port and an outlet port; a sensing element disposed at least partially within the housing; a main flow path defined within the housing connecting the inlet port and the outlet port, where the main flow path is disposed proximate the sensing element such that at least a portion of the flowing media is in fluid contact with the sensing element; and a laminarizing structure located in the inlet port and configured to direct a flowing media in a laminar flow pattern.

Flow sensing apparatus

A flow sensor assembly including a top flowtube that defines an inlet port, an outlet port, and a main channel. An inlet flow channel fluidly may connect the inlet port of the flow sensor assembly to the main channel. An outlet flow channel fluidly may connect the main channel to the outlet port. The bottom flowtube may include a shroud which acts as a cover over an electronic circuit board. The shroud may eliminate a step, created by the flow sensor, to provide a continuous flow path over the sensor. The channels may be formed to utilize the entire footprint of the flow sensor assembly.

The present disclosure relates to modular flow sensor assemblies and methods. The modular flow sensor assembly may include a main sensor body, a first end adapter having a first connection port configuration, and a second end adapter having a second connection port configuration. The main sensor body may include a main housing and a sensor, where the first end adapter is configured to engage the main housing and the second end adapter is configured to engage the main housing. The first end adapter and the second end adapter may be selected from a group of end adapters, wherein at least two of the end adapters has a different connection port configuration. The selected first end adapter and the selected second end adapters may have the same or different connection port configurations. The first end adapter and the second end adapter are configured to be interchangeable end adapters.

Modular flow sensor

A modular sensor assembly in which a sensing module may be packaged and provided separately from a signal processing module and which, in some applications, may facilitate disposal and/or replacement of the sensing module when exposed to a 'dirty' or 'contaminated' environment without requiring disposal and/or replacement of the entire sensor assembly. In certain applications, the sensing module may include at least one transducer or sensor and a local memory containing a set of conditioning coefficients. The sensing module may be removably coupled to a signal processing module which, in some cases, may be configured to download the set of conditioning coefficients stored in the local memory of the sensing module, and to use the set of conditioning coefficients to produce a substantially linearized output signal.

This disclosure relates generally to flow sensors, and more particularly, to flow sensors that include a pressure related output signal. In one example, a flow sensor assembly may include a housing with an inlet flow port, an outlet flow port and a fluid channel extending therebetween, with a flow sensing element positioned in the housing and exposed to the fluid channel. A filter insert may be situated in the fluid channel, sometimes upstream of the flow sensor. When so configured, the flow sensor assembly may output a pressure or differential pressure based, at least in part, on a value of the flow rate through the fluid channel as sensed by the flow sensor.

An ASIC compensated pressure sensor includes a sense die, an ASIC chip, and supporting elements. The sense die includes a metallized surface for attaching the sense die to a mounting surface. The resulting solder joint provides a hermetic seal that is resistant to a wide range of media associated with different environmental conditions. The mounting surface can contain the ASIC and electronics for compensation or can be attached to another mounting surface, which contains the ASIC and electronics. Either configuration can include collars of different styles for ease of assembly and in turn can be attached to a mating connector. The mounting surface can possess a closely matched coefficient of thermal expansion to the sense die in order to enhance electrical stability of the output signal over a wide temperature and pressure ranges.

An advanced thick film (ATF) pressure transducer can be produced from an advanced thick film stack on a metallic substrate. The metallic substrate has a flexible metallic diaphragm that flexes when there is a pressure differential across its top and bottom surfaces. The conductive and dielectric layers of the ATF stack are patterned into wire networks and bond pads. A strain sensor can be attached to bond pads or can be formed as part of an ATF layer. Flexure of the diaphragm stresses the strain sensor to produce an output proportional to the pressure differential. The ATF pressure transducer can be packaged into a housing that provides easy deployment and electrical interconnectivity.

A pressure sensor port apparatus and method comprising a pressure port that includes a hexagonal area preferably comprising a plastic material (e.g., thermoplastic). Additionally, one or more electronic interconnections can be associated with the pressure sensor port, such that the electronic interconnections are isolated from sensed media while providing a pressure sensor port apparatus based on a cost effective injection molding process rather than a machining processes required for a metal.

A modular sensing apparatus includes a sensing diaphragm that accommodates a particular pressure range. A pressure port can be connected to the sensing diaphragm to provide pressure data thereof. Additionally, the modular sensing apparatus includes a connector and a temperature sensor pre-selected by a user, such that the connector is attached to a pressure port. An integrated circuit can be configured to provide a desired output for respective pressure and temperature from the sensing diaphragm and the temperatures sensor and to provide error corrections thereof. The sensing diaphragm, the temperature sensor, the integrated circuit and the connector are electrically connected utilizing flexible circuitry to form the modular sensing apparatus assembled to at least one requirement of the user in order to provide simultaneous and application independent pressure and temperature sensing data.

A multiple compartment, self sanitizing, tooth brush holder wherein separate liquid containing compartments receive individual tooth brushes while the entire device is wall mounted or free standing. The receptacle is provided with a hinged lid which opens to the entire interior of the receptacle but which, when closed, allows some access to the interior of the receptacle. A clear impact resistant plastic is preferred for construction.

Improved armor structure comprised of an assembly of stacked, plastic plates of a first density and a layer of plastic material of a second density different from the first density between each pair of adjacent plates, respectively. Each plate is comprised of a number of layers of reinforcing material, such as fiber glass material, embedded in a resin to form a monolithic construction. Each layer is comprised of a mat of suitable material, such as fiber glass, impregnated with a binder, such as polyester resin. The layer has a finite thickness generally less than the thickness of each plate. The outer plates of the stack have exposed outer surfaces free of additional structure. The difference in densities of the plates and the layers causes delamination at one or more of the interfaces therebetween when the shock wave of a projectile entering the assembly partially propagates through and is partially reflected by such interfaces so as to dissipate the energy of the projectile itself.
