A collapsible hydraulically operated ambulance cot having a support frame, a wheeled base, a support mechanism disposed therebetween, and a lift system for hydraulically moving the upper frame relative to the lower frame is disclosed. The lift system permits a single attendant to raise the cot from a lowered position to a raised position, and an infinite number of positions therebetween, and to raise the wheeled base relative to the support frame to situate the cot onto an elevated surface such as the transport deck of an ambulance. A manual override is also provided to conserve battery power and as a back-up in no-power situations. It is to be appreciated that the above described manual override mode may be used when raising or lowering the cot without power assist, dropping the undercarriage when unloading from a vehicle, and lifting the undercarriage when loading into a vehicle.

A multiple level elevating cot adapted to be rolled into emergency vehicles, the cot having a wheeled undercarriage supporting a cot frame having a leading end and a trailing end, The leading end comprises a drop frame adapted to be positionable in extended, middle, collapsed, and lengthened positions. Leg members interconnect the cot frame and the undercarriage. A latching device is adapted to selectively secure the leg members in a plurality of elevational positions. The cot further comprises a pair of sidearm supports provided to the cot frame between the leading end and the trailing end, each of the sidearm supports being adapted to be positionable in vertically-up, vertically-down, substantially horizontal, and folded positions relative to the cot frame.

A multiple level elevating cot adapted to be rolled into emergency vehicles, the cot having a wheeled undercarriage supporting a cot frame having a leading end and a trailing end, and adapted to selectively secure the cot frame in a plurality of elevational positions. The cot frame includes a pair of side extension arms provided between the leading end and the trailing end, each of the side extension arms being adapted to slidably extend outwardly from a stowed position adjacent the cot frame to an extended position substantially perpendicular to the cot frame. The cot further includes a drop frame that may be lengthened and sidearm supports positionable in vertically-up, vertically-down, substantially horizontal, and a folded position relative to the cot frame. The cot frame may form a part of an integral stretcher or may serve as a carrier to which a separable top structure mounts.

A multiple level elevating cot adapted to be rolled into emergency vehicles, the cot having a wheeled undercarriage supporting a cot frame having a leading end and a trailing end, and adapted to selectively secure the cot frame in a plurality of elevational positions. The cot frame includes a pair of side extension arms provided between the leading end and the trailing end, each of the side extension arms being adapted to slidably extend outwardly from a stowed position adjacent the cot frame to an extended position substantially perpendicular to the cot frame. The cot frame may form a part of an integral stretcher or may serve as a carrier to which a separable top structure, such as a stretcher/stair chair, may be detachably secured, the cot frame including seats for slidably receiving the top structure and latching means for securing the top structure to the cot frame.

A height-adjustable cart is provided and includes an undercarriage having a wheeled frame, a double scissor-type lift mechanism and a support frame which is height-adjustable relative to the wheeled frame by the lift mechanism. The wheeled frame includes a pair of extendable rear wheel supports which are each pivotable between a retracted position and an extended position. While in the retracted position, the wheels are in close proximity to the frame, thereby defining a small cart &ldquo;footprint&rdquo; for compact storage. While in the extended position, the wheels extend transversely away from the frame, thereby widening the cart &ldquo;footprint&rdquo; for stability and for ease of transportation. The height-adjustable cart further includes a detachable table onto which heavy equipment may be loaded. The detachable table includes wheels suitable for carrying the weight of the equipment and for transporting the heavy equipment thereon separate from the undercarriage. The support frame is provided with a pair of rails which receive rollers of the detachable table for rolling the table onto and off from the undercarriage. A lock mechanism is provided in each rail to capture the respective roller therein and to prevent removal of the detachable table from the undercarriage until the locking mechanism has been released.
