A transaction is detected on a transaction terminal. A first code is presented on a display of the transaction terminal that is encoded with an identifier and a passcode for a wireless connection between the transaction terminal and a mobile device operated by a customer. The mobile device processes the code to wirelessly connect to the transaction terminal using the identifier and the passcode. A second code is presented on a display of the transaction terminal. The second code when captured by the mobile device causes a transaction interface to be remoted from the transaction terminal to the mobile device over the wireless connection. The transaction continues with interactions provided on the mobile device and processed on the transaction terminal without any customer touching of the display of the transaction terminal and without any customer touching of any keys or keypad of the transaction terminal.

A first request from a first individual to deposit monetary funds into an account associated with an entity may be received. The first individual is not an account owner of the account. Monetary funds from the first individual may be received for deposit in the account. The monetary funds may include cash, checks, credit card transfers, and/or debit card transfers. The receipt of the first request may be receipt of a paper ticket with an access code authorizing deposit of monetary funds into the account. One or more restrictions may be reviewed to authorize the deposit of monetary funds in the account.

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for implementing a self-service terminal ('SST') monitoring, notification and maintenance system. Embodiments of the proposed invention may simplify a task of locating an operational SST having a specific operational status and/or capability within a geographic area. Embodiments may automatically determine and monitor an operational status and/or capabilities of a SST. The operational status may include an operational status indicative of a SST that need servicing or repair. A location of a device used to submit a request for SST information may be automatically determined. Location, operational status and directions on how to locate a specific SST within a distance of the determined location may be transmitted in response to a request for SST information. The operational status of multiple SSTs within a geographic area may be monitored.

Methods, apparatuses, and systems for software stack building using a logically protected region of a computer-readable medium are described. An image of a software stack may be stored in a computer-readable medium. A computer, coupled to the computer-readable medium, may build an executable software stack on the same computer-readable medium from the image. The image may be stored in a logically-protected region of the computer-readable medium. After the storing and prior to the building, data stored on the computer-readable medium outside of the logically-protected region may be erased.

Adaptive network throttling may allow a device to communicate information using a shared network link without negatively impacting other devices utilizing the shared link. Adaptive network throttling may regulate communication of each device independently of network link or device hardware specifications. Adaptive network throttling may ensure that each device utilizing the shared network link inserts a time delay following a communication of information. The time delay may represent bandwidth on the shared network link that is not being used by a device. The unused bandwidth may be available to other devices communicating over the shared network link.

Responsive to determining that no data representing the particular version of the image of the software stack for the first computer exists on the removable computer-readable storage medium, data indicating that no data representing the particular version of the image of the software stack for the first computer exists on the removable computer-readable storage medium may be outputted, and data representing a second computer with data representing the particular version of the image of the software stack for the first computer may be outputted.

Cross-updating of software between self-service financial transaction machines

A method and apparatus for rebuilding an ATM computer image in an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) is provided. The computer of the ATM is configured to depend on key system files. The key system file may be used to recreate a viable machine image in the event that the ATM 'crashes' or some files become corrupted. If key system files are found cannot be verified upon a reboot, a copy of key system file is sought. The ATM first searches for the key system files in ATMs that are connected to a common switch. If the nearby ATMs do not have a copy of key system files than a succession of searches are made across local area networks and wide area networks. Key system files may reside on similar ATMs, dissimilar ATMs, servers, terminals and network drives. If key system files can be located then the ATM may automatically restore a viable machine image and reboot. Otherwise manual intervention is required.

Thus, methods and apparatus for providing adaptive diagnostics for ATM fault conditions are provided. Such methods and apparatus may include one or more computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a processor on a computer system, perform a method for diagnosing an electronic self-service device fault condition. The method may include receiving an input from a self-service device. The input may include information regarding a fault-related event. The method may also include assessing a plurality of system-level ramifications of the fault-related event. In response to the assessing, the method may further include determining continued viability of a plurality of ATM services. The method may also include electronically providing a notification of a list of remaining viable self-service device services.

A first computer may compare a first image representative of a plurality of software stacks, and a second image representative of at least one and less than all of the plurality of software stacks to determine a difference between the second image and the first image. The first computer may generate a file representative of the difference between the second image and the first image. The file may include data of instructions for removing each software stack of the plurality of software stacks represented in the first image and not represented in the second image from a second computer. Data representative of the file representative of the difference between the second image and the first image may be recorded to a computer-readable storage medium.
