The invention relates to microfluidic devices and methods that employ electromagnetic radiation to move a droplet of fluid on a fluid-transporting surface of a substrate. Typically, radiation of a particular wavelength is directed through a substantially transparent material, and the radiation imparts an optical trapping force to move the droplet. In addition, a means for reducing evaporative loss from the droplet may be provided.

Optical microfluidic devices and methods

An apparatus for securing a watercraft in spaced apart relation to a mooring facility, including but not limited to docks. The apparatus controls horizontal movement of the watercraft, but allows free vertical movement with the rise and fall of the water supporting the watercraft. The apparatus comprises a longitudinal beam that is attached to the dock in a generally vertical orientation and a channel member that is slidably carried by the beam. A first arm and a second arm are longitudinally joined by a flexible connector and the free end of the first arm is attached to the channel member. The apparatus further comprises a guide comprising a fender and a longitudinal element that extends therefrom. The free end of the longitudinal element is attached to the free end of the second arm and a clamp is adjustably attached to the element. The clamp has structure thereon for attaching the clamp to a water craft.

Apparatus for securing a watercraft to a dock

An improved squeegee and method of ergonomically modifying a conventional squeegee, is provided. A squeegee includes a rigid handle having a convex top side, opposite from a bottom side, and opposing concave faces longitudinally disposed between the top and bottom sides of the handle. A blade is attached to the bottom side of the handle. A compressible pad is removably secured to the convex topside of the handle providing maximum padding to the palmer regions of the printer's hands. The pad tapers to a minimum thickness at distal edges which are located on or near the concave faces of the handle.

Ergonomic squeegee for silk screening

An apparatus for safely securing a boat to a dock having a first bracket attached to the boat and a second bracket attached to the dock. Interposed between the two brackets is a telescoping arm including a tension spring, and each end of the arm is pivotally attached to a respective one of the brackets. The telescoping arm is pivotally attached to each bracket to permit movement of the boat with respect to the dock, and the tension spring assists in ensuring that the boat does not inadvertently strike the dock. The apparatus may also include a compression spring positioned to act against one end of the sliding arm as a further cushion against lateral movement of the boat toward the dock.

Apparatus for securing watercraft to a dock

Bench for automotive vehicle body shops

A compliance carrier of the basket type having a row of cells on each side of the center handle panel. Each row's cell divider panel section and cell compliance panel section are positioned and structured within the carrier blank so that the cell divider panels and cell compliance panels are glued together along a fold line oriented in the cross machine direction relative to the machine direction travel of the blank through a carton gluing machine, that fold line being a leading edge on the panel section not folded. Further, each row's cell divider panel section and cell compliance panel section are oriented and structured so that no glue tabs or panels within either section needs to be folded prior to gluing of the cell divider panels and cell compliance panels one to the other.

Method of erecting a compliance carrier

A method for printing addresses on envelopes or cards from a plurality of master cards each having an address and other indicia imprinted thereon with heat conducting material, such as carbon. Master cards and envelopes or cards to be printed are delivered to a printing zone in face-to-face relationship together with a length of printing tape interposed between each master card and its respective envelope or card to be printed. The tape has one surface coated with heat-transferable printing medium disposed in face-to-face relationship with the envelopes. The master cards, tape and envelopes or cards to be printed are pressed together at the printing zone where heat is applied to the heat conducting indicia on the master cards.

Method for addressing cards and envelopes

A compliance carrier of the basket type having a row of cells on each side of the center handle panel. Each row's cell divider panel section and cell compliance panel section are positioned and structured within the carrier blank so that the cell divider panel and cell compliance panels are glued together along a fold line oriented in the cross machine direction relative to the machine direction travel of the blank through a carton gluing machine, that fold line being a leading edge on the panel section not folded. Further, each row's cell divider panel section and cell compliance panel section are oriented and structured so that no glue tabs or panels within either section needs to be folded prior to gluing of the cell divider panels and cell compliance panels one to the other.

Compliance carrier
