The present disclosure relates to a spray head assembly for a beverage making machine comprising a mounting for connection to a flow of liquid from a reservoir or other water source and a surface for joining to a spray head. A face portion of the spray head has an interior surface with relative rises and depressions or hills and valleys. Orifices are located generally at the peak of a hill with valleys being defined between neighboring hills.

A substance holder and an insert for use in the substance holder. The insert elevates a brewing substance, filter or pod above a floor of the substance holder. The substance holder and insert allow water to infuse the brewing substance and allow beverage to drain through a portion of the insert for draining into a container. The insert is retained in the holder and is selectively removable from the holder to facilitate actions, for example but not limited to cleaning of the holder and insert as well as replacing the insert with other structures which may be used with the holder.

Disclosed is a beverage brewer for brewing a beverage using a beverage brewing substance pod. The pod may include substances such as coffee for producing a desired brewed beverage. A pod holder, having at least one wall, defining a cavity in the pod holder for retaining the pod for brewing. Water is dispensed into the pod and drained through a drain in the pod holder. The pod holder is removable from the brewer for placing a pod therein. The pod holder is slideably inserted into the brewer for brewing. One or more ramps are provided on the brewer for engagement with corresponding ramps on the pod holder for positioning the holder relative to the sprayhead for infusing the pod retained in the holder. Water is introduced to the pod without piercing the pod. Legs are provided on a portion of the pod holder for positioning the pod holder in an upright position when removed from the brewer.

An apparatus and method of dispensing a partially frozen beverage. The apparatus includes at least one beverage hopper for retaining a quantity of partially frozen beverage. The beverage hopper has a dispensing aperture formed therein and a guide member in an exterior surface of the beverage hopper. A chilling unit cools the partially frozen beverage retained within the beverage hopper. A dispenser assembly is provided which includes a handle, a biasing element, a gasket and a slideable valve member. the valve member has a portion dimensioned to slideably engage the guide member of the beverage hopper.
