A textile substrate is patterned by the selective application of various dyes to the substrate surface in a way that provides desirable, visually apparent enhancements in the area of pattern detail, definition, and color range, through the use of a novel patterning system, including the application of various chemical agents, that makes such enhancements possible. In one embodiment, the patterning system described herein is capable of producing pile-faced textile substrates, useful as floor coverings, that exhibit a unique combination of desirable pattern attributes that have been identified and measured using novel techniques specifically developed for these substrates and pattern attributes.

The present disclosure relates to an anti-fatigue flooring article having inherent properties of electrostatic dissipation. Further, this disclosure relates to flooring article having at least two layers, wherein a first layer (comprised of dense rubber) is calendered to a second layer (comprised of foam rubber). Each layer has a different electrical conductivity, thereby creating a mat having an appropriate range of conductivity when combined. The present flooring article may also include a layer of static dissipating scrim, a grounding means, and/or a colored marking.

The present invention is directed to an apparatus and process for precisely measuring the position of a deflector blade. When patterned dyeing a moving textile web wherein continuously flowing streams of liquid normally directed in paths to impinge upon the web are selectively deflected from contact with the web in accordance with pattern information then each continuously flowing liquid stream is selectively deflected by a stream of air which is discharged, in accordance with pattern information, from an air outlet located adjacent each liquid discharge outlet. The air outlet is positioned to direct the air stream into intersecting relation with the liquid stream and to deflect the liquid into a collection chamber or trough for recirculation. To accurately control the amount of dye applied to a given location on the material during the dyeing operation, and to insure that the dye strikes the material in a very small, precise spot, the lower portion of the collection chamber contains a deflector blade supportably positioned in spaced relation above the lower wall of the collection chamber and wherein means are provided for accurately measuring the position of the deflector blade to facilitate accurate placement of the dye streams on the moving material during the printing process and precise interception of the streams when deflected.

Method and apparatus for measuring the position of a dye deflector blade

An improved mechanism for securing a parison molding cone atop the plunger shaft of a glass container-moulding machine. A one piece collar is secured to the head of the shaft by a bayonet tongue-and-groove assembly. The collar has a crenulated inwardly projecting flange around its upper rim. The base of the molding cone has an outwardly projecting crenulated flange around its lower rim. The flanges of each part are shaped and dimensioned to mesh together, thus allowing the flanged part of the base to be inserted into the top section on the collar then rotated into a locking position. Two spring-loaded locking members mounted into the collar engage recesses in the flange of the molding cone in order to prevent rotation of the molding cone away from its engaged position. A locking pin located in a vertical channel in the collar when forced down by the cone engages a recess or groove in the shaft and is locked there permanently by the cone while it remains in its engaged position. This positive means of locking; keeps the collar which is subjected to millions of cycles of high impact stresses, from rotating to an unsafe position during the hot and severe vibratory glass molding operations. Large cooling air passages are embodied in the collar that permit more efficient discharge of hot air from the core of the molding cone.

Plunger assembly for forming glass containers

An apparatus and method for alleviating the foam associated with the application of dyes or other liquids to moving textile materials, such as pile carpets, fabrics and the like. This invention may be used with machines in which arrays of individual streams of liquid dye are used to pattern substrates. There is a means for alleviating the foam created in the fluid stream utilized to treat the textile substrate.

Apparatus for high velocity dye drainage

A method and apparatus for patterning a substrate wherein liquid unfixed dye is applied to the substrate in the form of a spray. One or more streams of pressurized gas such as air are then directed onto the substrate for the purpose of displacing some of the unfixed dye where the streams impinge the substrate, thereby causing a visually distinctive area on the substrate where the relative dye concentration is reduced. Resulting products are also disclosed.

Method and apparatus for patterning substrates using gas streams

A method and apparatus for dyeing a substrate using an array of spray generators. In a preferred embodiment, each spray generator is comprised of a gas port from which an intermittent jet of pressurized gas is directed onto the substrate to be dyed. Positioned along the path of the gas jet is a nozzle from which continuously flows a liquid dye. When dyeing is desired, i.e., in response to pattern data, the gas jet is rapidly cycled on and off, thereby atmoizing the dye emerging from the nozzle and establishing discrete bursts of spray which meter a controlled quantity of dye onto the substrate. When the gas jet is interrupted, the nozzle projects an interrupted stream of liquid dye which does not contact the substrate.

Apparatus and method for spraying moving substrates

An adjustable transceiver antenna mount in which the force required for adjustment is such as to facilitate one-hand operation, enabling the driver to adjust the antenna position from the driver's seat. With internal controls, the driver is able to do so without even opening the window. The mount has a releasable positive locking action and also a serially arranged fail-safe friction connection. The mount provides for connection of the coax cable to a fixed component of the mount to eliminate cable flexing. The mount provides a sealed housing for the connection. The mount provides embracing electrical contact elements for a main shaft. These are pressed against the shaft by a compression spring arrangement which also urge releasable antenna locking members to remain in engagement. The mount has other features recited in the body of the specification.

Antenna mount with rotary positionable feature

A yarn system for continuous, synthetic yarn in which is imparted a false twist by the use of a cooperating belt system. In the use of the belt system, a cooling water recirculation system is employed to purify the recirculated water so that economy of operation can be achieved. Further the system employs a plurality of filters to ensure efficient purification and distribution of the water to be purified.
