A handheld voice activated spelling device includes a housing and a cover secured to the housing. A power source and microphone are mounted within the housing and control switches are operable from the front surface of the housing. A first memory has a plurality of words stored therein. A second memory has a plurality of word definitions stored therein, each associated with a respective word. A speech recognition apparatus is coupled to the microphone and to the first memory and responsive to the electronic signals generated by the microphone for selecting at least one word from the first memory representative of the specific word spoken by the user. A display is provided for displaying the plurality of words and the plurality of word definitions when the user operates a selected control switch. A related word classification can be also selected from a third memory and displayed on the display.

The present invention relates to a polyureaurethane wherein the prepolymer comprising said polyureaurethane has a NCO to OH equivalent ratio of from 2.0 to less than 2.5. In an embodiment, the polyureaurethane prepolymer comprises a polyisocyanate and at least one OH-containing material, which can be reacted with an amine-containing curing agent to produce the polyureaurethane of the present invention.

A composition comprising a particulate dispersion of from 50% to 98.9% by weight of a siloxane-polyoxyalkylene copolymer surfactant, from 1% to 49.9% by weight of a nonionic organic surfactant other than the siloxane-polyoxyalkylene copolymer surfactant and from 0.1% to 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a particulate material having a particle size of less than 20 microns, is described. A method of preparing such a composition, and polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams containing such a composition are also described. The nonionic organic surfactant is preferably an ethoxylated nonylphenol. The particulate material is preferably a hydrophobic precipitated silica. The composition of the invention is useful as an additive in the preparation of rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams.

Stable particulate dispersions

This disclosure relates to an improved exterior adjustable rearview mirror for motor vehicles, with air flow apertures designed and arranged for the removal of moisture, dust, debris and the like from the viewing surface of a rearview mirror mounted therein. The exterior adjustable rearview mirror attached to the front side window, in a manner known per se, consists of a fixed rigid rearview mirror housing with a rearwardly opening providing visibility to an adjustable rearview mirror therein. An air intake aperture is formed on the forwardly directed wall of the rearview mirror housing structure, with respect to the direction of travel of the motor vehicle. The air intake aperture serves to direct the flow of air through a vertical air compression chamber within the rearview mirror housing structure. Hence, the flow of air travels out through the air exhaust aperture located above the viewing surface of the rearview mirror. The flow of air exiting the air exhaust aperture applies a force on the viewing surface of the rearview mirror in such a manner whereby moisture, dust, debris, and the like is forced in a vertical direction off the viewing surface of the mirror, as the motor vehicle with the attached exterior adjustable rearview mirror travel in a forward direction. In addition, the design of the air compression chamber together with the moisture sump depression and the moisture weep duct will remove airborne moisture which may be captured within the device. This moisture is removed and is not distributed onto the viewing surface of the rearview mirror.

Mixtures of (meth)acrylic terminated polyether resin and 3-halo-2-hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate and/or 2-halo-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl (meth)acrylate are prepared by adding diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A to (meth)acrylic acid while the weight of 3-halo-2-hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate and 2-halo-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl (meth)acrylate in the reaction mixture is at least about 5 percent by weight of the sum of the weights of the (meth)acrylic terminated polyether resin, the 3-halo-2-hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate and the 2-halo-1-(hydroxymethyl) ethyl (meth)acrylate present in the reaction mixture. In a preferred embodiment, both epihalohydrin and diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A are added to the (meth)acrylic acid.
