An autonomous deployment system is herein for functional utilization in the physical placement and deployment of a heating or thermal mat(s). The system is designed to enhance human productivity and ease deployment of the prior art thermal radiating or generating devices for the removal and or inhibition of accumulation of snow and ice. The deployment system as can be designed to operate autonomously with automatic controls and sensors to control both the thermal system and the technology of controlling a deployment system. The system is well suited to autonomously deploy and retract rolled membranes and or flexible materials out over a flat or sloped surface area. The inherent flexibility of the mat allows it to traverse gently curved surfaces.

Deployment system for thermal radiating materials

A composite metallurgical product includes a roll cast aluminum alloy core and a filler material bonded on the core. Assemblies joined by filler material are formed from this product by heating to flow the filler material into joints and subsequent solidification of the filler material in the joints. The composite product is made in several ways, including lamination at roll caster rolls, and lamination or thermal spraying at the exit side of a roll caster. The invention additionally provides for an angulation rolling method for varying percent of cladding on the composite, and a high-manganese aluminum alloy useful as core material in brazing sheet clad with aluminum-silicon brazing alloy.

Method of continuously casting composite strip

A roll caster feed tip comprising a top member, a bottom member, a pair of fixed side members positioned between the top and bottom members to define a molten metal passageway having at least one inlet and an outlet adjacent the roll caster, said outlet having an adjustable width, and means between the side members for adjusting the width of the outlet during casting. The adjustment means preferably comprises at least one spacer adapted to slidably extend through the inlet and to the outlet of the passageway, said spacer extending adjacent one side member. More preferably, the adjustment means comprises a plurality of spacers adapted to slidably extend through the inlet and to the outlet of the passageway, said spacers extending either adjacent the side members and each other or through channels defined by a plurality of guides extending between the top and bottom members intermediate the side members. A method for adjusting the outlet width of the above roll caster feed tip comprises slidably extending at least one spacer through the inlet of the feed tip, to the outlet and adjacent one side member.
