Various embodiments are directed to ambidextrous firearm controls, including an ambidextrous bolt control assembly and/or ambidextrous magazine release and associated methods. The ambidextrous bolt control assembly may include a bolt catch configured to hingedly connect to a firearm to rotate between a disengaged position and an engaged position, the bolt catch may include a first bolt catch engagement button operable from a first side of the firearm and a first bolt catch release button operable from the first side of the firearm; an ambidextrous bolt catch engagement button operable from a second side of the firearm; and an ambidextrous bolt catch release button operable from the second side of the firearm; wherein the ambidextrous bolt catch engagement button and the ambidextrous bolt catch release button may each be separately movable relative to the firearm. The ambidextrous bolt catch assembly may further include an ambidextrous magazine release assembly.

Ambidextrous firearm controls

An assembly for directing propellant gas to an action of a firearm includes a barrel and a gas block. The barrel has a plurality of gas ports that communicate with the bore of the barrel. The barrel and the gas block define a passage that receives pressurized propellant gas from the bore by way of the barrel gas ports, and directs the propellant gas to a gas port of the gas block. The plurality of barrel gas ports and the passage act as a manifold in which the propellant gas is taken from multiple locations within the barrel, combined into a single flow, and directed into the gas block via the gas block gas port. The pressurized gas is then routed to an action of the firearm by way of a gas tube and a gas key.

Various embodiments are directed to a barrel for a firearm. In various embodiments, a barrel comprises an inner surface defining a bore configured to guide a projectile as the projectile is propelled through the bore by pressurized gas; and a barrel gas port having a gas port depth extending between a port entrance defined by the inner surface of the barrel and a port exit, wherein the barrel gas port is configured to fluidically communicate with the bore and an action of the firearm; wherein the port entrance defines a length dimension defined parallel to a longitudinal axis of the barrel and a width dimension defined perpendicular to the length dimension; and wherein the length dimension of the port entrance is greater than the width dimension of the port entrance. Various embodiments are directed to a firearm comprising the exemplary barrel.

Provided are various mounts, firearms, firearm components, and associated elements and methods. A mount for an at least partially curved body surface may include at least one body defining a clamping portion and a component portion connected to the clamping portion, and a level vial engaged with the component portion of the at least one body. The clamping portion may be configured to engage and secure the mount to the at least partially curved body surface, and the clamping portion may define at least two tangent contact surfaces configured to engage the at least partially curved body surface to secure the mount to the at least partially curved body surface.

Provided herein are extractors, bolt assemblies, firearms, and related methods, devices, and assemblies. A firearm extractor includes a first end, a second end opposite the first end, an axis defined between the first end and the second end, and a pivot portion between the first end and the second end. The extractor may include a notch defined at the inner side of the extractor at an axial location between the pivot portion and the first end that, in operation, engages a cartridge casing having a diameter greater than a casing of a 5.56 NATO cartridge or other platform-standard cartridge. A thickness of the extractor in at least one location defined at the axial location of the notch disposed radially inward of one or more lugs of a barrel or a barrel extension during cycling of the bolt may be greater than 0.019 inches.
