The invention pertains to the use of sophisticated chemical formulation and spectroscopic design methods to select taggants compatible with the 3D print medium that are easily detected spectroscopically but otherwise compatible with the product, structural integrity and stability, and aesthetics. A spectral pattern employs a different chemical or combination of chemicals to alter the formulation of all or some portion of the printed object so that its authenticity can be monitored later using a spectrometer.

Use of 3D printing for anticounterfeiting

Multisource fusion of data is used on a handheld device to create a portable analytical verifier, including the ability to verify based on product wrapping or using a re-turned code to check the product or wrapping. Data words are extracted from authentication media by testing to see whether particular taggants are present, using spectroscopic analysis.

A boxhaving a bodyis used with a transparent flexible bag containing a liquid such as an IV bag. First and second facesare positioned relative to each other. Non-zeolitic molecular sieves are prepared by contacting a body of alumina or silica-alumina (optionally containing reactive sources of phosphorus pentoxide and/or other elements desired in the non-zeolitic molecular sieve) with a liquid reaction mixture containing a reactive source of phosphorus pentoxide (and optionally reactive sources of silica and/or other elements desired in the non-zeolitic molecular sieve), and an organic templating agent, thereby causing the body to react with the liquid reaction mixture and to form crystals of the non-zeolitic molecular sieve within the body.

Process for the production of molecular sieves

A method is disclosed for preparing molecular sieves of the zeolite type, particularly A, X and Y, in massive bodies that exhibit higher crush strengths than observed for prior art massive bodies. Sized unreactive kaolin-type clay, a pore generating material, and preferably a set strength enhancing agent are mixed with water to a consistency that can be shaped into preformed bodies. In the cases of zeolites X and Y silica may be included in the mixture. These bodies are calcined, optionally aged, and digested to convert them to massive bodies containing the desired zeolite.
