A sealing system for sealing a hose to a barb coupling, the hose and barb coupling defining a joint having a high pressure portion associated with the barbed portion of the coupling, and a low pressure portion associated with the barbless portion of the coupling, the system comprising a constant displacement clamping portion for mounting on the portion of the hose positioned over the high pressure portion, and a constant tension clamping portion for mounting on the portion of the hose positioned over the low pressure portion.

Clamping system

A two-cycle, internal combustion engine utilizing a stepper motor to vary tension on an air intake valve. An air pump forces air through the valve but is opposed by forces due to a spring on the valve and pressure in the cylinder. By varying the compression of the spring, the stepper motor causes the valve to open for varied amounts of time thus controlling air flow into the cylinder according to operating conditions. The stepper motor, ignition timing and fuel injection are a controlled by an electronic control system.

Two-cycle internal combustion engine

A lubricated cylinder wall in which an oil permeable cylinder ring is located on the inside surface of a cylinder. Oil from an oil supply channel located behind the oil permeable ring supplies the ring with oil. When the oil pressure in the oil supply channel is greater than the pressure inside the cylinder, oil is forced through the oil permeable ring and onto the inside surface of the oil permeable ring. Because the ring is located in the cylinder wall at a location above the bottom dead center location of the piston, upward motion of the piston inside the cylinder sweeps oil from the inside surface at the oil ring over the inside surface of the cylinder. The oil ring is installed in the cylinder by coiling it to a smaller diameter then the cylinder, placing the coiled ring in a groove on the inside surface of the cylinder, pressure fitting the coiled ring into the groove, and then honing the inside surface of the ring to be flush with the inside surface of the cylinder.
