An imaging system including a dichroic beamsplitter configured to be angled at least at a first angle and a second angle wherein when angled at the first angle imaging at a broad band wavelength spectrum and at least one of laser designation and laser ranging performed with a laser beam occurs with the dichroic beamsplitter and when angled at the second angle the imaging at the broad band wavelength spectrum and laser spot tracking performed with a laser beam occurs through the dichroic beamsplitter. Another system and method are also disclosed.

System and method for providing multimode imaging, tracking, and ranging with a single lens

A vehicle including a scanning imaging system includes a vehicle body having an outer surface, a propulsion source, and an optical window secured to the outer surface of the vehicle positioned on an optical axis for transmitting electromagnetic radiation received from a portion of an area of interest to the scanning imaging system. The scanning imaging system includes a first achromatic prism pair having prisms with different materials that have different refractive properties, and a second achromatic prism pair having prisms with different materials that have different refractive properties, both positioned on the optical axis. A camera fixed in location is optically coupled to form images from the electromagnetic radiation after being bent by the achromatic prism pairs. A motor including a controller independently rotates the first and second achromatic prism pairs about the optical axis for scanning within the area of interest.

A method and apparatus for optical damage assessment using an existing imaging focal plane array and a fixed or moving set of optics and filters. Advantages include cost reductions and improved reliability due to fewer components and therefore fewer points of failure.

A window baffle assembly has a multi-element segmented window having a first surface adapted to receive at least one wavelength of radiation from an optical system, a baffle housing positioned proximate at least a portion of the first surface of the segmented window, and a plurality of baffle elements each affixed between positions on the baffle housing and offset from the first surface of the window. At least a portion of the plurality of baffle elements are in a Field of View of the optical system at an operational angle. The surface of the baffle elements are adapted to absorb at least a portion of the energy of the radiation and oriented to scatter the radiation. Each baffle element comprises a leading edge and an opposing trailing edge, the leading edge oriented toward the first surface of the window and the trailing edge oriented to point toward a central point of the optical system. A method of manufacturing a window baffle assembly is also provided.
