Method and apparatus for continuous electrochemical treatment of a metal

An aluminum composite is provided having improved resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially a brazed aluminum composite. The composite comprises an aluminum base alloy core clad with a brazing alloy consisting essentially of from 4-14% silicon, from 0.01-2% tin, and the balance essentially aluminum. The additions to the brazing alloy reduce the tendency for the brazing alloy layer to induce intergranular corrosion of the core alloy layer. They also reduce the pitting rate of the brazing alloy layer.

Al-Si-Sn Alloy clad composite

A triclad composite aluminum article having increased resistance to crevice corrosion in aqueous environments is disclosed in which a brazing composite having an aluminum core clad on one side with an aluminum brazing alloy is provided on the other side with a sacrificial clad consisting essentially of from 0 to 0.1% magnesium, 0.8 to 1.2% manganese, 0 to 0.1% chromium, 0 to 0.05% silicon, 0 to 0.05% copper, 0.1 to 0.4% zinc, 0 to 0.1% titanium, 0 to 0.1% iron, balance essentially aluminum.

Crevice-corrosion resistant aluminum radiator triclad composite

An aluminum composite is provided having improved resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially a brazed aluminum composite. The composite comprises an aluminum base alloy core clad with a brazing alloy consisting essentially of from 4-14% silicon, from 0.01-2% of a material selected from the group consisting of indium, gallium and mixtures thereof, and the balance essentially aluminum. The additions to the brazing alloy reduce the tendency for the brazing alloy layer to induce intergranular corrosion of the core alloy layer. They also reduce the pitting rate of the brazing alloy layer.

Al-Si-In/Ga alloy clad composite

An improved corrosion resistant aluminum alloy for use in the manufacture of brazed assemblies having improved sag resistant properties is disclosed. The alloy consists essentially of an aluminum base alloy containing from 0.05 to 0.4% chromium, from 0.02 to 0.9% manganese, up to 0.2% iron, up to 0.1% silicon and the balance essentially aluminum.

Brazed aluminum composite having improved resistance to intergranular corrosion. The core alloy consists essentially of from 1 to 1.5% manganese, from 0.1 to 0.4% chromium, from 0.1 to 0.4% copper, from 0.01 to 0.6% silicon, from 0.01 to 0.7% iron, balance essentially aluminum. The cladding brazing alloy consists essentially of from 4 to 14% silicon, from 0.05 to 0.2% bismuth and the balance essentially aluminum. The brazed alloy composite provides galvanic protection against intergranular corrosion.

Aluminum brazed composite

A composite aluminum article having increased resistance to erosion corrosion in aqueous environments comprising an aluminum base alloy cladding consisting essentially of 0.8 to 1.3% zinc, 0.7% maximum silicon plus iron, 0.10% maximum copper, 0.10% maximum manganese, 0.10% maximum magnesium, balance essentially aluminum, bonded to at least one side of an aluminum base alloy core consisting essentially of manganese from 1.0 to 1.5%, chromium from 0.1 to 0.4%, copper from 0.05 to 0.4%, balance essentially aluminum.
