Biological sample processing system assemblies include a swab chamber assembly configured to enhance transfer of a biological sample on a swab head to a resulting biological sample solution for subsequent processing. A swab chamber assembly includes a fluid channel and an elongated swab chamber having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The swab chamber is configured to accommodate insertion of a swab head of a swab into the swab chamber. The distal portion of the swab chamber slopes downwardly from a distal end of the proximal portion of the swab chamber so that lysis buffer solution transferred into the swab chamber accumulates within the distal portion of the swab chamber.

Biological sample processing assemblies and methods

Diagnostic testing systems and related methods employ actuation pressure-based control during fluid transfer within a test cartridge. A method of operating a cartridge to process a biological sample includes coupling an actuation port of the cartridge with a pump assembly of a portable analyzer. A transfer operation of the pump assembly induces airflow through the actuation port so as to displace an aliquot of the sample solution along a fluid channel. A control unit monitors a pressure signal indicative of a pressure of air displaced by the pump assembly. The transfer operation is stopped in response to a change in the pressure signal indicative of contact of the aliquot of the sample solution with a hydrophobic staging vent.

Microfluidic systems and methods

Single use cartridges for testing biological samples are provided that include multiple processing channels. A single use cartridge includes an aliquot staging well, a first amplification well, a second amplification well, an actuation port, and a fluid channel control valve assembly. The fluid channel control valve assembly is reconfigurable between a first fluid channel configuration and a second fluid channel configuration.

Assay cartridge

An access control device is described. The access control device may store a credential in the memory of the access control device. The access control device may receive an access token from a user device via a wireless receiver. The access token may be different from the credential. The access device may verify the authenticity of the access token by sending the access token information to a server. The access control device may receive an indication from the server that the token is valid. The access control device may send the credential to a reader device of the access control system managing access to a physical secure area.

Universal access control device

Features are disclosed for sealing system which is dynamically activated based on a vehicle's location within a geofence via a custom access application. Mobile application features are provided to securely adjust the seal state. Requests to change state are verified against location permissions indicating time or place where the seal may be disabled. The requests may also include specific a code known only to system users for authenticating requests.

Geofence transport sealing

Features are disclosed for sealing system which is dynamically activated based on a vehicle's location within a geofence via a custom access application. The seal generates current location information. The current location information is compared to location permissions indicating time or place where the seal may be disabled. If the current location corresponds to an authorized unsealing location, the seal may disengage to allow access to the vehicle.

Described herein is a system and universal access control device that may be installed in proximity to, or within, an access control system to enable a user to use a user device to gain access to a secure area or resource. In some embodiments, a user may submit a request for access to a remote server and may be provided with an access token. The user may relay the received access token to the universal access device via a wireless transmission means on his or her user device. The universal access device may verify the authenticity of the access token by relaying the access token information to the remote server. Once the access token has been authenticated, the universal access control device may retrieve a credential stored in memory and provide that credential to the access control system to enable the user to gain entry to a secure area.

A rechargeable battery pack can provide power to a device that also accepts at least one standard non-rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery pack may include a housing for housing at least one battery cell and recharging circuitry. The at least one battery cell and the recharging circuitry can be housed substantially within the housing. The recharging circuitry can be coupled with the at least one battery cell. The recharging circuitry can be configured to charge the at least one battery cell when the battery pack is inserted into the device that also accepts at least one non-rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery pack may further include a protection circuit coupled with the recharging circuitry.

Rechargeable battery

One embodiment of the invention is directed to a rechargeable battery pack configured to provide power to a device that also accepts at least one standard non-rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery pack comprises a housing for housing at least one battery cell and recharging circuitry. The at least one battery cell and the recharging circuitry is be housed substantially within the housing. The recharging circuitry is coupled with the at least one battery cell. The recharging circuitry is configured to charge the at least one battery cell when the battery pack is inserted into the device that also accepts at least one non-rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery back further comprises a protection circuit coupled with the recharging circuitry.
