A process of fabricating a slip ring component, a slip ring component, and a slip ring assembly are disclosed. The process includes forming a first shot, forming a second shot, and immersion bathing the first shot and the second shot. The immersion bathing applies an electrically conductive plating to exposed surfaces of the second shot.

Method of fabricating a slip ring component

A connector assembly configured to sealably engage with a mating connector. The connector assembly includes a plug assembly that has a mating end configured to be inserted into the cavity of the mating connector. The connector assembly also includes a collar that surrounds the plug assembly. The connector assembly also includes a sleeve member that is positioned between the collar and the plug assembly. The sleeve member surrounds the plug assembly about the central axis and includes a plurality of fingers that extend toward the mating end. The sleeve member is stamped and formed from a common piece of sheet material. The fingers are biased away from the central axis in a flared arrangement when the collar is in the withdrawn position. The lingers press against the wall surface of the mating connector when the collar is moved from the withdrawn position to the locked position.

A connector assembly configured to engage a mating connector. The connector assembly includes a plug body that has loading and mating ends and a central axis extending therebetween. The mating end is configured to be inserted into a cavity of the mating connector to establish at least one of communicative and power connections. The plug body has an outer surface that surrounds and faces away from the central axis. The connector assembly also includes a ring that is slidably mounted over the plug body. The ring is configured to slide along the outer surface of the plug body in an axial direction between withdrawn and locked positions. The connector assembly also includes a sleeve member that is slidably mounted over the plug body and the ring. The sleeve member includes a plurality of fingers that extend toward the mating end and are biased toward the outer surface of the plug body. The ring is configured to engage the fingers and the fingers are configured to flex away and engage the mating connector.

Push-pull connector

A connector assembly includes a boot body, a contact housing, and a contact. The boot body extends between a boot coupling end and a boot back end. The back end receives a cable that includes a conductor. The boot body defines an internal chamber. The contact housing extends between a housing mating end and a housing back end. The contact housing includes a housing coupling element between the housing mating end and the housing back end. The housing back end is coupled to the boot coupling end. The housing mating end is configured to mate with a mating connector to electrically connect the connector assembly and the mating connector. The contact is held in the housing and electrically connected to the conductor. An adhesive is disposed in the internal chamber to secure the boot body and the contact housing together.

Connector assembly having a plurality of discrete components

An electrical connector assembly for a refrigerator door is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a substantially cylindrical plug subassembly and a substantially cylindrical receptacle subassembly that are mateably connectable with one another. Either one or both of the plug and receptacle subassemblies include a front and a rear housing that can be arranged to provide a pre-staging configuration for preassembly of contacts in the connector and a final staging configuration to fully secure the contacts in the subassembly.

A low profile connector assembly comprises at least one contact having a surface mount portion and a wire engagement portion extending from the surface mount portion, and a housing insertable over the at least one contact and retained to the at least one contact. The housing encloses the wire engagement portion and has a wire receiving aperture therethrough. The wire receiving aperture provides access to the wire engagement portion when the housing is retained to the contact.

Low profile surface mount connector

A connector assembly for connecting an electrical contact to an electrical wire. The connector assembly comprises a housing and anti-overstress members. The housing has a contact chamber that retains an electrical contact. The electrical contact has an elasticity over a range of motion. The anti-overstress member is provided in the contact chamber. The anti-overstress member is positioned within the range of motion to limit deflection of the electrical contact. The connector assembly may also comprise interweaving walls positioned on either side of the electrical contact within the contact chamber. The interweaving walls shield the electrical contact from arcing. The interweaving walls have edges with non-linear contours proximate an open bottom of the housing.

Anti-overstress electrical connector

An electrical connector assembly includes a housing having a chamber that retains a contact deflectable over a range of motion and a contact deflecting member. The chamber is configured to receive a wire and the contact is deflectable to make and break an electrical connection with the wire. The contact deflecting member is formed integrally with the housing and extends into the chamber. The contact deflecting member is positioned to engage and deflect the contact to make and break the electrical connection with the wire.

Electrical connector with integral wire release member

An electrical connector is shown for stacking a plurality of printed circuit boards one above the other, where some of the terminals extending from the lower portion of the housing include both printed circuit board contacts as well as mating contacts for the next adjacent connector. The connector housing includes integral stand-offs for maintaining the parallel nature of the stacked boards, as well as a precise spacing between the boards. The connector housings can include stand-off members which are frangible and can be used to maintain the parallel nature of the boards when other connector housings of a similar height are not used.

Printed circuit board connector

An electrical connector is disclosed for the electrical connection between insulated power conductors and a printed circuit board. The electrical connector is defined by an insulated housing having a plurality of side-by-side cavities to receive the electrical contacts. The electrical contacts are of the wire-trap style, where a wire is trapped between a portion of the terminal and a resilient tongue, which is reversely bent beneath a contact portion. The electrical contacts further include printed circuit board contacts extending downwardly and through the housing. The electrical contacts are designed and are loaded within the cavities in such a manner that electrical arcing between adjacent contacts is eliminated.

Electrical connector for power conductors

A backshell construction for an electrical connector which allows multiple cable exits, multiple cable exit directions and multiple cable sizes. A conductive ferrule having a fixed size clamp portion is utilized as an adaptor for different size cables. The backshell is constructed of a pair of duplicate hermaphroditic conductive bodies wherein the rear and side walls may have one or more cable cutouts with engagement structure for gripping the ferrule on each of the cables.

Programmable backshell for an electrical connector

A connector assembly (10) including at least one audio jack (36,38,40) stacked in an insulative housing spacer (24) with an electrical connector (80). The connector assembly is arranged for surface mounting to a circuit board (12) which is orthogonal to a metal panel (14) having openings (16,18,20,22) which provide access to the audio jacks and to the connector of the connector assembly. The electrical connector includes a forward mating end (92) surrounded by a metal shroud (98) which engages the metal panel. To ground the shroud to the circuit board, a combined ground strap and board lock (90) has one end secured to the circuit board and another end (116) clamped between the housing and a rearwardly extending tab (118) of the shroud.

A filtered connector 20 includes a housing means 22 having a plurality of terminal members 42 disposed therein with terminal portions 46 extending outwardly thereof, filter means 48 and grounding means 38. Filter means 48 includes a planar inductive substrate 50, a plurality of terminal receiving passageways 58 extending therethrough and configured to receive corresponding ones of the terminal member portions 46. An array of capacitors 60 is disposed on substrate 50, such that each capacitor 60 is associated with a corresponding terminal receiving passageway 58. In the preferred embodiment, each capacitor 60 includes a first or signal electrode 62, a layer of dielectric material 66 having a selected thickness disposed on the first signal electrode over at least most of the exposed surface thereof; and a second or a ground electrode 68 disposed on layer 66, the ground electrode 68 being electrically isolated from the signal electrode and in capacitive relationship therewith. Ground electrode 68 is adapted for electrical connection with the connector ground means. The signal electrode 62 is exposed for electrical connection to a respective terminal member 42 after insertion of the terminal member 42 through the passageway 58.
