The present invention is directed to immunoassay reagents including specific antibodies to quinoline carboxylic acids, such as brequinar; novel quinoline carboxylic acid haptens useful as standards in immunoassays or for conjugating to large molecular weight carriers as immunogens or conjugating to detectable fluorescent moieties as tracer compounds. The present invention also relates to immunoassays for detecting quinoline carboxylic acids in clinical samples, and finally to kits containing said reagents.

Immunoassay reagents and methods for detecting brequinar and analogs

A method of treating devitalized tissue in mammals is disclosed. The method comprises applying to the devitalized tissue a composition comprising an enzyme mixture derived from crude bromelain which exhibits 15 to 35 units of protease activity per milligram of protein in the presence of cysteine and from 0.5 to 5 units of collagenase activity per milligram of protein and an inert solvent carrier containing at least 60 percent water.

Method of enzymatic debridement

A process is disclosed for isolating an enzyme mixture useful in the treatment of devitalized tissue from crude bromelain. The process comprises the steps of: (1) suspending the crude bromelain in a weakly basic buffer, preferably sodium borate buffer, to selectively dissolve the active enzyme mixture; (2) separating the undissolved solids from the solution; and (3) removing small molecules having a molecular weight of 10,000 or less from the solution.
