Provided is a data acquisition system comprising a CPU, radiation detector, buffer, and a storage device in communication with the buffer and which is capable of storing information received from the buffer. The data acquisition system includes a method for sequentially monitoring data from one region of interest based on data obtained from a previous region of interest, and finally recording the data of a final region of interest for use as medical data.

Initiation of dynamic data acquisition

Provided is a system and method for acquiring and processing dynamic cardiac data, comprising a radiation detector for acquiring image data, identifying a region of interest by performing, for example, a weighted center of mass calculation, generating an activity versus time array corresponding to the region of interest, and analyzing the activity versus time array for compactness and/or fragmentation by performing, for example, a full width half maximum calculation.

Automated processing of dynamic cardiac acquisition data

A method and apparatus for calibrating the sensors of a radiation detector by collecting a radiation spectrum detected by the detector during an irradiation, calculating a peak energy location from the collected radiation spectrum, determining if the peak energy location is mislocated from a desired location; and adjusting the gain setting for the selected radiation sensor so that the peak energy location is no longer mislocated from the desired location.
