Also disclosed is a unique means of interfacing the system to the Internet to access said medical records from remote locations and for convenient updating of said records via remote locations.

Electronic system for retrieving, displaying, and transmitting stored medical records from bodily worn or carried storage devices

The invention disclosed herein relates to an improved method and system for the optically scanning, storage, management, retrieval and electronic mailing of a persons medical records and identification information on a 24 hour a day basis, primarily for use in a medical emergency of other medical scenario. The invention disclosed also encompasses unique and novel methods of verifying the authenticity of original medical records via a unique physicians digital signature embedded into the documents, a means for standardizing and prioritizing the history and prior medical records of a patient so as to provide an edited or abbreviated medical chart for emergencies which is current and clinically significant, a means of encrypting medical records for security, and a means of providing a unique alpha numerical identified code for each patient and digitally embedding the identifier into said patient records within the system and a means of 24 hour a day electronic access, transmission and updating of said records using a unique telephone exchange system, Internet, wesbite Intranet or other appropriate electronic or wireless means.

Computer system for optical scanning, storage, organization, authentication and electronic transmitting and receiving of medical records and patient information, and other sensitive legal documents

The invention is a novel bodily worn device, preferably in the form of jewelry, a medallion or watch, which provides for the digital storage and retrieval of a user's medical records, drug prescriptions, medical history, organ donor instructions, and personal identification for use in an emergency or routine medical situation. Additional embodiments include an electronic dog-tag for military and law enforcement applications. The device includes: an outer safety shell, in the form of a medallion, or watch with markings which identify it as a medical device, and a digital storage media such as a computer chip or high density silicon media, and non-contact wireless electrical power to the device and non-contact wireless retrieval of records. Security features include encrypted software and user password for medical records confidentially. The invention includes features for retrieving and displaying stored records on computer screens via a wireless interface wand or by providing access to a central website via the Internet with use of a user serial number password.

Bodily worn device for digital storage and retrieval of medical records and personal identification

An electronic card which is a composite of various materials, including an optically sensitive digital storage section which is capable of being formatted and having digital binary data stored within its surface. The card is capable of being erased and having new data written and of being easily carried on a person in a wallet or purse. An optical screening reader/writer drive is capable of formatting the storage media, writing data onto the card, erasing data from the card and rewriting data onto the same card.

A sensing device for capturing acoustic heart sounds has a diaphragm formed from a piezoelectric transducer material which generates excitation signals in response to acoustic and vibratory energy outputs. The sensing device includes metallization layers on the diaphragm for receiving and transmitting the excitation signals to an output display device via associated electrical contacts and electrical leads and also includes a layer of adhesive material for coupling the sensing device to the subject. The sensing device further includes snap connectors for allowing the device to be quickly disengaged from electrical leads and discarded. A patch sensor device is disclosed which enables acoustic outputs to be triangulated and pinpointed.

Sensing device for acoustic energy

The present invention relates to an acoustic sensor device for capturing internal body sounds. The acoustic sensor device is designed to sense the flexing of a patient's skin that is a result of the localized nature of internal body sounds, especially the patient's heart sounds, and generate an electrical signal analogous to the flexure of the skin. The acoustic sensing device of the present invention has as its principal components two thin film piezoelectric sensing portions, preferably formed from polyvinylidene fluoride or a similar piezoelectric material, two layers of a compliant, substantially incompressible material, a flexible and elastic adhesive layer between respective ones of the sensing portions and the incompressible material layers, an electrical connector at one end of the sensing device, an optional neutral plane inducer, an electrostatic shield for the electrical connector, a moisture barrier/protective coating, and an optional adhesive or cream layer for adhering the sensor device to the skin of the patient.

Disposable sensing device with contaneous conformance

The present invention relates to an improved device and method for separating a first component in a solution from a second component in the solution. The device comprises a centrifuge for applying centrifugal force to the solution and at least one transducer for emitting a sonic energy force such as an ultrasonic wave into a container of the solution while the centrifuge is rotating. The method of the present invention broadly comprises the steps of applying a centrifugal force to the solution to separate the first component from the second component and simultaneously applying a sonic energy force to the solution to speed up the separation of the first component from the second component. A tool for removing transducers from the device is also disclosed.

Combination centrifugal and sonic device for separating components

The present invention relates to a system and a process for detecting, assessing, grading and diagnosing heart conditions in human beings. The system includes a device for providing or generating an acoustic blood flow signal and a signal representative of the electrical activity of a subject's heart. The device for providing the acoustic blood flow (MCG) signal may be a transducer or microphone attached to the patient, or in the alternative, an acoustic signal stored in a storage device. The device for providing the electrical activity (ECG) signal may be an electrocardiogram device attached to the subject or a stored ECG signal. The ECG signal is conditioned in a conditioning circuit to provide a timing or calibration signal having QRS spikes at the onset of each systolic portion of a heart cycle. The MCG signal passes through its own conditioning circuit to filter out unwanted noise and to amplify low frequency sounds. The timing signal and the MCG signal are fed into a microprocessor wherein the MCG signal is converted in a spectral pattern of heart sounds and matched with the timing signal. The output from the microprocessor is a combined, real time MCG pattern/ECG wave signal which may be displayed on a video monitor, which may be put into hard copy form, and/or which may be stored on a storage device.
