A container for condiments includes a container portion having generally planar bottom, a generally parallel flange, a discharge spout, and a sidewall extending between the bottom and the flange. A generally planar cover portion is secured to the flange by an adhesive such that there exists a non-bonded region between the cover and the flange. At least one section of the flange in the non-bonded region is bent downwardly away from the cover portion to form therebetween a finger-access gap. The sidewall includes a front portion disposed below the spout and extending downwardly with respect thereto. The sidewall front portion is configured to prevent the spout from becoming displaced upwardly in response to the sidewall front portion being contacted by the rear portion of another container in a package of the containers.

Multi-function condiment container

A pouch-like package for long-term storage of a highly acidic condiment is fabricated from a flexible sheet material having a light-blocking sheet, such as aluminum foil, coextruded between a printable layer, which may be a polymeric material such as PET, and a barrier layer, which may be a polymeric material such as PET coated on one side by a thin layer of aluminum oxide. Suitable adhesives may be used between the printable layer, the light-blocking sheet, and the barrier layer. If desired, a sealant such as acrylonitrile may be applied to the surface of the barrier layer.

Condiment package and packaging material having extended shelf-life

A flexible food package includes a laminate body defining an internal compartment. The laminate body includes an inner layer and an outer layer that are coupled together. At least one of the inner layer and the outer layer includes green polyethylene having a percent modern carbon value of at least 30 percent.
