A system for coupling to equipment at a well includes a connector and/or an outer sleeve sub engageable with the connector, each including an internal bore. An isolation sleeve includes a seal and is positioned at least partially within the internal bore, in which the seal is axially movable with respect to the internal bore so as to be positionable to seal against the equipment.

An offshore well system for a subsea well includes an internal riser tension device configured to apply tension to an internal riser and an external riser tension device configured to apply tension to an external riser such that the external riser is supported at least partially independent of the internal riser tension device.

An offshore well system for a subsea well, including a floating platform, a drilling riser system connected with the well for drilling operations, and a production riser system connected with the well for production operations. The drilling system also includes a riser tension system. The riser tension system is capable of compensating for movement of the platform while adequately tensioning both drilling riser system and the production riser system when each is connected to the well.

An offshore well system for a subsea well. The system includes a floating platform, an external riser and an internal riser nested within the external riser. A external riser tension device tensions the external riser. The drilling system also includes a surface wellhead system that includes a wellhead, a collet, and a flange assembly. The wellhead, collet, and flange assembly are assembled to establish a common bore for receiving the top of the internal riser. A gasket located between the top of the internal riser and an inner shoulder of the flange assembly seals between the wellhead system and the top of the internal riser. The surface wellhead system also retains the internal riser in tension with the wellhead, the internal riser extending above the wellhead into the collet.

A system for determining a location of a drill pipe joint deployed in a bore includes at least one magnetometer deployed on the bore. A processor is in electronic communication with the magnetometer and is configured to process magnetic field measurements made by the magnetometer to determine at least one of an axial position and a lateral position of the drill pipe joint.

A metal end cap seal for sealing against resent invention relates to seals within a fluid system. The metal end caps of the seal include protrusions or nibs on the terminal ends of the caps, providing for reduced friction during installation and use. The seal may also include a base elastomer and an insert elastomer, the base elastomer and insert elastomer having different material properties from one another. The insert elastomer is selected to reduce friction with a sealing surface.

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a multi-function tool that includes a positioning assembly configured to move with a first degree of freedom of rotation, a second degree of freedom of axial movement in a first direction, and a third degree of freedom of axial movement in a second direction crosswise to the first direction, a cutting tool configured to selectively couple to the positioning assembly, and a measurement tool configured to selectively couple to the positioning assembly.

A gooseneck conduit system for use with a telescoping joint of a subsea riser. In one embodiment, a riser telescoping joint includes a tube and a gooseneck conduit assembly affixed to the tube. The gooseneck conduit assembly includes a gooseneck conduit extending radially from the tube, and a tenon projecting from a rear face of the gooseneck conduit. The width of the tenon increases with distance from the rear face. The riser telescoping joint also includes a mortise channel extending along the length of the tube. The mortise channel is interlocks with the tenon and laterally secures the gooseneck conduit assembly to the tube.

An offshore well drilling system for drilling a subsea well is presented that includes a floating platform, a surface BOP stack, a riser, and a driveable environmental safe guard system. The safe guard system includes an upper wellhead connector, a lower wellhead connector, a blowout preventer with shearing blind rams, and a subsea pressure control system. The subsea pressure control system can be electric, hydraulic, acoustic, or ROV actuated. More importantly, the environmental safeguard system is moveable, and can be driven around using as ROV. The present invention provides swift disconnect and recovery for emergency situations. The subsea environmental safe guard system is also much lighter in weight than traditional subsea stacks.

The riser system of the present invention includes an external production riser for floating structures with interfaces to the dry and subsea wellheads, internal tieback riser with a special lower overshot/slipping connector for elevated temperatures. The seals can be metallic and/or non-metallic dynamic seals. Special centralizing pipe connectors and a special subsea wellhead tubing hanger are also included. This riser system avoids the penalty of pipe within pipe differential thermal growth and the resulting unwanted effects on the floating structure. This is accomplished by allowing an overshot sealing slipping connector to swallow an expanding polished rod as thermal conditions cause pipe elongation axially. When elevated temperatures fall to ambient the opposite occurs as the pipe shrinks axially. Alternatively, a system is possible where a two pipe drilling riser is needed. The internal pipe in this case would be an inner riser rather than a tubing string.

System for conveying fluid from an offshore well

A hang-off assembly for supporting a riser string from an off-shore drilling rig. The hang-off assembly includes a housing with a passage through the housing and an open section allowing access to the entire length of the passage from outside the housing. The assembly also includes a gate member movable relative to the housing from an open position to a closed position, the gate member preventing access to the passage through the open section when in the closed position. A motor moves the gate member between the open and closed positions. An adapter attachable to the riser string includes a profile landable in the housing to support the riser string when connected to the adapter.

Riser stringer hang-off assembly

A fishing tool is provided to enable retrieval of fish from a mineral extraction system. The fishing tool includes a frustoconical member, an outer tubular member, and an inner tubular member. The inner tubular member includes a plurality of receptacles configured to receive a plurality of jaws. Each of the jaws may include teeth on an inward facing surface of the jaw. The outer tubular member may be hydraulically actuated to cause the jaws to move radially inward and engage the fish, enabling removal of the tool and the fish. Systems and methods that include the fishing tool are also provided.
