A lighting fixture is provided in which the lighting fixture includes a housing configured to receive a power supply and a plurality of light emitting components positioned near a lens of the lighting fixture. The lighting fixture can operate in a first illumination mode and a second illumination mode. For example, the lighting fixture may provide white in one of the illumination modes and may provide amber light in the other mode. The lighting fixture is also able to be switched between an illuminated state and a non-illuminated state in response to receipt of a user input. The light emitting components can be switched between the first illumination mode and the second illumination mode in response to a magnetized contact applied to the exterior of the housing, where switching between the illuminated state and the non-illuminated state is independent of switching between the first and second illumination modes.

Lighting fixtures, apparatuses, methods, systems, computer readable media and other means are provided for a scalable light fixture design that allows a lighting manufacture to easily create custom multidirectional lighting fixtures. The approach may be easily modified and adjusted without departing from the general design and without incurring the otherwise larger redesigning costs often associated with the creation of light fixtures customized for a particular lighting design application.

A system and method for a manufacturer to attract a customer for a distributor, via a public access network, and perform product information and ordering transactions with the customer, where the order receives the financing approval of the distributor and an associated manufacturer's representative receives a commission. The system and method includes the customer submitting a price/quotation request or product order to a host system via the public access communications network. The host system interacts with the customer, the manufacturer and the distributor in order to fulfill the customer request. The host system retrieves a customer price for the product, where the customer price is based on a predetermined pricing function that varies depending on a customer or distributor identification. The host system may also generate an order for purchase, based on the customer's request, and transmit customer information associated with the order to the distributor for financial acceptance. Upon receiving a signal representing a financial acceptance, a commission is assigned to a manufacturer's representative associated with the order, where the commission is determined based on a predetermined commission function. The host system interacts with the customer, distributor and manufacturer to insure fulfillment of the order, including shipment of the order and settlement of payments.

Systems, devices and methods for lighting include a lighting fixture having a first electrical system including a first set of electrical components operable by a first power source located remotely from the lighting fixture. A first light-emitting device is mountable to the housing and energizable through the first electrical system during periods of predetermined levels of light. A second electrical system including a second set of electrical components is operable by a second power source located locally with respect to the lighting fixture. A second light-emitting device is mountable to the housing and automatically energized through the second electrical system during predetermined levels of power from the alternating current power source. And, the first set of electrical components are distinct from and independent of the second set of electrical components. Methods of lighting and reducing energy costs through incorporating the lighting device are also disclosed.

An outdoor ground-supported light fixture having a non-conductive hollow staff and having a lower end for disposition in the ground and an upper end where electrical conductor elements are received by the lower end into the staff and where the electrical conductor elements exit the staff from the upper end is disclosed. The light fixture also includes a shade unit having a non-conductive wiring compartment integral therewith. The unit has a top end and a bottom end with the wiring compartment located at the bottom end of the unit. The bottom end of the unit is for connection with the upper end of the staff. The compartment has a base with an aperture therein for receiving the electrical conductor elements from the upper end of the staff through the aperture. The compartment has a lamp receiving device devised for connecting a lamp to the electrical conductor elements.
