A control system includes a multi-core processor configured to operate plural different applications performing different operations for controlling a controlled system. The applications are associated with different levels of criticality based on the operations performed by the applications. The processor is configured to provide a single hardware platform providing both spatial and temporal isolation between the different applications based on the different levels of criticality associated with the different applications. The processor also is configured to synchronize communications of the applications operating in a real time operating system with scheduled communications of a time sensitive network (TSN).

Mixed criticality control system

An improved method for compression molding of typically brittle ceramic materials comprising uranium dioxide which enhances their compacting and cohering properties in the manufacture of nuclear fuel products. The uranium dioxide is mixed with a fugitive binder comprising a high molecular weight acrylic acid polymer and ammonium bicarbonate. The mixture is then pressed and sintered to expel the binder and to give a fissionable nuclear fuel pellet.

An improved catalytic process for selectively ortho-alkylating a phenolic compound which comprises reacting a phenolic compound with an alcohol, optionally in the presence of water, and a catalyst composite consisting essentially of the calcination residue obtained from heating an admixture of magnesium carbonate and/or magnesium hydroxide and a manganese compound.

Catalytic process for preparation of ortho-alkylated phenols

A catalyst composition useful in preparing 3,3,3-trifluoropropene by the reaction of hydrogen fluoride gas with a halogenated hydrocarbon is provided. A novel catalyst is prepared by simultaneous fluorination of chromium and aluminum oxides. This or conventional chromium oxyfluoride compounds may additionally be activated by contact with chlorine or pentachloroethane. A process for the preparation of 3,3,3-trifluoropropene is also contemplated.

Catalytic ortho-alkylation process which comprises reacting a phenolic compound with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst composite comprising a calcination residue derived from a catalyst preform prepared from an admixture of (1) a magnesium carbonate and/or magnesium hydroxide, (2) a manganese compound, and (3) a complex of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) and a solvent selected from dichloromethane, dibromomethane, bromochloromethane and mixtures thereof.

Catalyst precursor

A monocarbonate transesterification process comprising contacting in the presence of a base, a beta-fluoroaliphatic carbonate and a compound selected from the class consisting of monohydroxy aliphatic alcohols, phenols and ortho-positioned dihydroxy aromatic compounds. The resulting monocarbonates are useful as monocarbonates, per se, or useful in the preparation of polycarbonates which can be molded or formed into films, laminates or reinforced plastics by conventional techniques.

Monocarbonate transesterification process

A de-alkylation process which comprises contacting a t-alkylether-alkanol, e.g. 4-t-butylether-n-butan-1-ol, with an acidic solid mixed oxide, e.g. silica-alumina, catalyst which results in the formation of alkanediols, e.g. 1,4-butanediol, in the substantial absence of undesirable side reactions, e.g. the formation of tetrahydrofuran. The resulting alkanediols are useful in the preparation of polyesters, e.g. polybutylene terephthalates.

Acidic mixed oxide catalytic de-alkylation of

A carbonylation process which comprises contacting a .beta.-fluoroalkanol, carbon monoxide, a base, and the Group IIB element mercury present in an oxidation state greater than zero. The resulting .beta.-fluoroaliphatic carbonates can be employed in combination with alkanols and/or phenols to prepare aliphatic and aromatic mono- and polycarbonates. The resulting carbonates are useful in a wide variety of applications, especially polycarbonates which can be molded or formed into films, sheets, fibers, laminates, or reinforced plastics by conventional techniques.

Carbonylation process

Oxygenated compounds are prepared by reacting olefinically unsaturated compounds with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a hydroformylation catalyst with suppression of the olefin hydrogenation side reaction if an acid is used in the reaction mixture. Typically, o-phthalic acid suppresses the formation of hexane and n-propanol, respectively, when 1-hexene and allyl alcohol are hydroformylated.
