A manifold includes a body having generally planar inlet surface. The inlet surface includes a first inlet and a second inlet adapted for coupling to a pressurized process fluid. An outlet surface on the manifold is adapted for coupling to a co-planar transmitter and is at angle relative to the inlet surface. The manifold includes an equalizing valve surface opposite the outlet surface, and a perimeter therebetween. The outlet surface includes first and second outlets in fluid communication with the first and second inlets, respectively.

Manifold for use with a pressure transmitter

An in-line pressure transmitter for sensing an absolute or gage process pressure of a process fluid includes an in-line process coupling. The coupling has a mounting member which includes a substantially flat mounting face and a bore generally aligned with an isolation diaphragm assembly. The member is configured to mount to a flat process coupling.

Process connection for in-line pressure transmitter

A pressure transmitter has a pressure sensor coupled to an isolator diaphragm by a fill fluid such as oil. According to the invention, means are provided for measuring the position of the isolator diaphragm and comparing the measured position with an expected position to give an indication of fill fluid leakage. Non-contact arrangements such as capacitive and ultrasonic techniques are disclosed for measuring isolator diaphragm position, as well as contacting arrangements such as switches. The fill fluid loss arrangement can be incorporated into a two-wire transmitter, which transmitter can be made to send a warning signal to a control unit when fill fluid loss is detected.

Transmitter with fill fluid loss detection

An assembly for aligning and supporting an adapter flange for connecting fluid pressures to a pressure sensor body in place on the body and to keep the flange in an unsealed condition to prevent pressurizing the body and flange until installation of permanent fasteners. The support fasteners keep the flange oriented in its normal usable position, but the fasteners retain the flange spaced from the body sufficiently so that the flange will not seal. This will prevent accidentally pressurizing the flange and pressure sensor body until permanent fasteners have been installed. The pressure sensor body is provided with threaded openings for receiving permanent fasteners and the body and flange are shipped with at least one extra set of permanent fasteners different in length from the fasteners used on the flange to permit adding adapters for a process correction. The threaded openings in the body are counter bored an amount selected so that when a different thickness adapted is used for process correction, only the correct length fasteners will be capable of being threaded into the body bores.

Interchangeable process connection resistant to installation errors

A cable protector comprises a cylindrical reel sleeve having an opening in the side wall, and one open end. A cable that is loosely, helically wound around a central axis to form a coil is inserted into the sleeve with one connector of the cable extending out through the bottom, and the other connector of the cable either retained in the interior of the sleeve or passing out through the opening of the side wall for connection to a second circuit board. The reel sleeve protects the helically wound cable from external damage, and the connector from the center can be coupled to a circuit board in a first transmitter housing, and retained in the protector to prevent damage to the cable during assembly of the housings. A second transmitter housing mounts a shroud that rotatably mounts the reel sleeve holding the cable, so that when the two transmitter housing sections are threaded together, the sleeve containing the wound cable will be guided into the shroud and will be permitted to rotate therein without damaging or twisting the cable as the two housing parts are threaded together or repositioned.
