Various apparatus and methods are disclosed relating to an identifying sensor that interprets a first identifier and a printing device that prints a second distinct image based upon the first identifier.

Identifying sensor and print device

A printer having a head and a handle are disclosed. In one embodiment, the handle has a convex side and a concave side. In another embodiment, the head is pivotable relative to the handle.

Printing device handle

A service station for a fluid-ejection mechanism of a fluid-ejection device includes one or more mechanisms. The mechanisms move back and forth over the fluid-ejection mechanism to wipe the fluid-ejection mechanism. The mechanisms cap the fluid-ejection mechanism during periods of nonuse of the fluid-ejection mechanism. The service station is mounted on the fluid-ejection mechanism, and remains mounted on the fluid-ejection mechanism while the fluid-ejection mechanism is used to eject fluid onto media. The fluid-ejection device is moved by a user to properly eject the fluid onto the media.

Fluid-ejection device service station

A fluid pathway is configured to selectively fluidically couple a printing fluid supply container to a printhead. The pathway includes a fail safe valve that that is configured to open as a result of movement of a moveable carriage and to thereafter remain open based on the availability of an electrical power signal.

Printing fluid control in printing device

An apparatus for use in a fluid delivery system includes a housing configurable to separate a first volume of gas from a second volume of gas and an interface arranged within the housing. The interface includes a bubbler member that is fluidically wetted with a fluid via capillary action. The interface is configured to allow a gas from the first volume of gas to pass through the fluid into the second volume of gas when a pressure difference between the first and second volumes of gas reaches a first threshold level. The interface is also configured to allow a gas from the second volume of gas to pass through the fluid into the first volume of gas when the pressure difference between the first and second volumes of gas reaches a second threshold level.

Fluid delivery system for printing device

A free flow fluid delivery system, such as, for example in a printing device, includes a fluid supply container configured to hold a printing fluid, a separating container coupled to the fluid supply container and configured to receive a froth made of gas and the printing fluid and output the printing fluid in the froth to the fluid supply container and output the gas in the froth to atmosphere. A pump is coupled to the separating container and configured to urge the froth into the separating container, and a valve is coupled to the fluid supply container and configurable selectively to allow printing fluid to flow out of the fluid supply container.

Free flow fluid delivery system for printing device

Methods are provided for use in a printing device. One method includes allowing a printing fluid to flow from a fluid supply container to a fluid reservoir of a printhead assembly, then urging material from at least the fluid reservoir and the fluid supply container to a separating container, then preventing any further amount of the printing fluid from flowing from the fluid supply container while continuing to urge the material from at least the fluid reservoir to the separating container, then stopping the urging of the material from at least the fluid reservoir to the separating container, and then allowing the printing fluid to flow from the fluid supply container to the fluid reservoir.

In one embodiment, a reservoir for holding a fluid includes a housing defining an enclosed chamber, the housing having a first opening therein at one part of the chamber and a second opening therein at a second part of the chamber above the first part of the chamber, a breachable seal sealing the second opening, and a circuitous tunnel exposing the chamber to the atmosphere through the second opening if the seal is breached.
