A suspension height modification apparatus includes a first portion that is securable to a vehicular biasing suspension device and a second portion that is securable to a vehicular frame. The apparatus includes an axis along which a suspension height may be determined between the vehicular frame and the vehicular wheel assembly. The apparatus includes a movable portion which may be actuated along such axis to adjust suspension height, and a spacer device connectable between an upper ball joint stud and a steering knuckle.

Adjustable suspension leveling apparatus

A suspension height modification apparatus includes a first portion that is securable to a vehicular biasing suspension device and a second portion that is securable to a vehicular frame. The apparatus includes an axis along which a suspension height may be determined between the vehicular frame and the vehicular wheel assembly. The apparatus includes a movable portion which may be actuated along such axis to adjust suspension height.

A suspension height modification apparatus includes a first portion that is securable to a vehicular biasing suspension device and a second portion that is securable to a vehicular frame. The apparatus includes an axis along which a suspension height may be determined between the vehicular frame and the vehicular wheel assembly. The apparatus may be selectively extensible along such axis.

A dual axis bushing assembly for engagement between an axle arm and an upper ball joint of a vehicle. The dual axis bushing assembly includes an inner skewed bushing engaged in and rotatable in an outer skewed bushing. The dual axis bushing assembly includes a zero offset setting or a zero skewed setting where a skewed axis of the inner bushing is coaxial with a center axis of an outer cylindrical surface of the outer bushing. At the zero setting, a connector seating annular surface on the inner skewed bushing is disposed at a right angle relative to a cylindrical outer surface of the outer skewed bushing. In one embodiment, the connector seating annular surface is recessed in a head of the inner skewed bushing. In another embodiment, the connector seating annular surface is an outermost end surface of a head of the inner skewed bushing. A method of camber and caster adjustment is disclosed that eliminates each of the steps of installing a standard zero bushing, taking camber and caster readings with the standard zero bushing in place, and then removing the standard zero bushing for an after market bushing.

Dual axis bushing assembly and method for camber and caster adjustment

A method and apparatus for improving the performance of a pump uses a pump performance disk kit comprising an impeller disk having a plurality of impeller disk blades extending at angles from a planar surface of the impeller disk such that when the impeller disk is attached on top of an impeller of a pump the total number of blades for use by the pump, and thus the performance, is increased. Interior edges of the impeller disk blades are located such as to prevent rotation of the impeller disk and lock the impeller disk blades in a location approximately halfway between blades of the impeller of the pump. An anticavitation disk is also attached on top of the impeller disk to eliminate the cavitation caused by coolant spilling out the open face of the pump impeller by blocking off the open spaces between the blades.

Method and apparatus for increasing performance of a pump

A vehicle kingpin assembly having a kingbolt journalled in a knuckle with laterally offset projections on the ends of the kingbolt, endcaps journalled in a yoke with offset openings therein holding the projections in spherical bearings, and compliant thrust bearings between the knuckle and the yoke so that the angular relationship between the knuckle and the yoke may be varied to adjust camber and/or caster by rotating the kingbolt in the knuckle and/or the endcaps in the yoke.

Method and structure for correcting alignment of kingpin axle assemblies

A variable valve actuating device and method are disclosed, the device including a rotatable cam having a selectively configured cam face engagable with a worm drive at an outer engaging surface of the cam, the worm drive being configured for both rotary and axial movement, rotary movement imparting rotational motion to the cam face, and axial movement changing relative valve timing. The device preferably includes a plurality of such rotatable cams engagable with different ones of a plurality of worm drives to thus provide selective variation of valve opening and valve closing times independently of one another, with open-valve duration being variable to occur at any point in an overall operating cycle of the system.

A structure and method for adjusting alignment of steerable wheels movable supported by a ball joint with a ball joint stud having an annual tilt bearing surface carried thereon, the structure comprising a bore defined in a suspension member and configured to receive the ball joint stud therein, the bore being larger than the ball joint stud and including therein a concave bearing surface in the form of a truncated sphere, the ball joint annular tilt bearing having a convex surface shaped to fit the spherical portion of the bore bearing surface, and a wedge washer proportioned to fit adjacent a ball joint nut, alignment being obtained by placing the tilt bearing on the ball joint stud bearing movable in the concave portion of the bore bearing surface, and positioning a wedge washer on the proper angle in the proper orientation to incline the ball joint stud as required for proper alignment. Orientation is determined by the position and angle of the wedge washer. The concave and convex bearing surfaces may be defined in discrete components.

Asssembly for adjusting wheel alignment, and method

A king pin member in the form of a plate portion adapted to index to a spindle knuckle, and a king pin stub extending from the plate portion in one of several positions offset from the indexing member, and thus from the nominal location of the king pin stub, such that the king pin member may be positioned in the spindle knuckle and engage an axle terminus to rotate the spindle knuckle to a desired orientation relative to the axle terminus to adjust and correct the camber relationship of a wheel journalled to the spindle knuckle. The offset king pin stub may be rotatable relative to the plate portion to provide variable offsets. By first measuring the camber maladjustment and selecting the king pin member with an appropriate offset king pin stub, camber corrections can be made. In particular applications, two corrective king pin members may be desirable to maintain the spindle knuckle and axle terminus geometry. Also, in some applications a two axis king pin stub may be necessary to facilitate installation of the kind pin member in the spindle knuckle.

A bushing formed of an outer body and an inner sleeve member adapted to rotate within the outer body, the outer body having a bore adapted to rotatably receive the inner sleeve member such bore being eccentric, i.e. offset and/or skewed, relative to the axis around which the outer surface of the outer body is generated, and the inner end member having a usually tapered bore similarly eccentric to the axis of the outer surface of the inner sleeve member such that the inner member may be rotated relative to the outer body with the eccentricity of the bore of the outer body and the bore of the inner member either being additive or cancelling such that the effective eccentricity of the inner bore may be adjusted to the outer surface of the outer body to provide, for instance, caster and camber compensating bushings for vehicles, and other similar eccentric bushing uses.

Method and structure for bearing the eccentricity of a bushing bore

Apparatus for positioning an offset or skewed bushing body with small incremental adjustments in a suspension member having fixed positioning lugs to secure the bushing body having an offset or skewed bore, a number of locating projections defined around the outer circumference thereof, an independent lock ring having a plurality of indentations defined around the inner circumference of the ring and adapted to engage the locating projections of the bushing body, the lock ring further having at the outer circumference thereof a plurality of indent pairs positioned to engage the locating lugs of the suspension member, and means to secure the lock ring to the bushing body, whereby the offset or skewed bushing body may be positioned in a suspension member, receive the tapered short portion of a ball joint, rotated to locate the ball joint with appropriate corrections to caster and/or camber, and maintained in such position by the locking ring which engages the locating projections of the bushing body at the inner circumference and the locating lugs of the suspension member at the outer circumference.

Method and structure for adjusting caster or camber

A method and device for adjusting camber and caster in a solid axle steerable structure including a yoke, and a steering knuckle rotatably carried in the yoke by a pair of ball joints, by inserting a connecting offset and/or skewed bushing in at least one of the ball joint receiving openings in the yoke and positioning the connecting bushing to accommodate the steering knuckle in the desired, aligned position relative to the yoke.
