A filter device is configured to filter a liquid. The filter device includes a drum sized to receive the liquid and a plurality of filter panels coupled to the drum to define a plurality of discs. The liquid passes through at least a portion of one of the discs. Each filter panel includes a perimeter frame that defines a panel normal flow area and a filter media coupled to the perimeter frame. The filter media may be adapted to include a plurality of pleats.

Disclosed herein are aspects and embodiments of an apparatus for providing gas slugs in a liquid. In one example, the apparatus comprises a housing defining a chamber, a bell tube including a wall and an open upper end disposed within the chamber, a riser tube including a wall, an open lower end, and a flared open upper end disposed within the bell tube, and a conduit defined between the wall of the bell tube and the wall of the riser tube and in fluid communication with an internal volume of the riser tube.

A filter device for filtering a liquid which includes trash. The device includes a drum for receiving the liquid and trash, wherein the drum includes at least one drum aperture. The device further includes a first pair of filter panels which are adapted for filtering the liquid. The filter panels are spaced apart to form a cavity for receiving the liquid and trash. The device further includes a frame for supporting the filter panels, wherein the frame is coupled to the drum. The frame includes a frame aperture wherein the frame aperture and the cavity form a volume having a cross sectional area sized substantially equal to or greater than the drum aperture and wherein said volume extends to a second pair of filter panels to enable liquid and trash which pass through the drum aperture to also pass through the frame aperture to the second pair of filter panels.

A filter device having a vent device for inhibiting formation of a vacuum in the filter device. The filter device includes a drum for receiving the liquid wherein the drum includes a drum headspace. The filter device also includes filter sets for filtering the liquid. The drum is rotated to enable cleaning of filter media. The filter device also includes a frame having spaced apart supports for supporting each of the filter sets. A fluid passageway extends between the supports, wherein the fluid passageway provides fluid communication between the tank headspace and a filter set to vent a filter set.

A boat loading system includes a powered extendable shaft mounted on a boat trailer and including a receiver mounted to a terminal end portion of the extendable shaft. A coupler or insert member is fixed to the bow of a boat and projects therefrom. To couple the receiver with the coupler, the extendable shaft is extended and the receiver aligned with the coupler. As the extendable shaft is extended, the coupler or insert member enters the receiver and engages a locking mechanism provided for therein. As the coupler or insert member is moved into the receiver, a locked condition is realized causing the coupler or insert member to be locked within the receiver. Thereafter, the powered extendable shaft is retracted and in the process, pulls the boat onto the trailer, positioning the boat in a loaded position on the trailer.

An improved headset for a helmet includes an acoustic component of a relatively small size to permit insertion thereof within the helmet, a relatively soft and comfortable textile material configured to removably contain the acoustic component, a connector for removably retaining the textile material to an inner portion of the helmet, and power supply for energizing the acoustic component causing emission of a sound wave. The textile material can be formed into a pouch.

A dismountable ladder for use with transom, swim or dive platforms having a pair of similarly shaped vertical upper side members. The upper end of each upper side member is formed as a U-shaped hook for releasably receiving a portion of a transom, swim or dive platform. The lower end of each upper side member has an opening. Additionally, a horizontal upper step member is releasably coupled within the opening in the lower ends of the upper side members. Finally, screws are provided for securing the upper step member to the upper side members through screw holes of the upper side members and upper step member.

An electrode for laryngeal electromyography comprises an insulator body having a pair of rigid conductors or posts mounted in a spaced apart relation therein. A pair of flexible electrical wires have one end connected with an associated post, and the other end adapted for connection to an electrical signal monitor. A tab projects outwardly of the insulator body, and is shaped for insertion into a laryngeal ventricle portion of the patient and prevents inadvertent removal of the electrode from a vocalis muscle thereof. The free ends of the posts are embedded into the patients vocalis muscle, and a signal generating probe is applied to surgically exposed internal tissue in the area surrounding the recurrent laryngeal nerve, whereby contact between the probe and the laryngeal nerve excites the vocalis muscle and the monitor, thereby indicating to the surgeon the exact location of the nerve.

Electrode and method for laryngeal electromyography

A kitchen utensil for the preparation of food and adaptable and easily convertible to numerous uses such as chopping, juicing, dicing, slicing, comminuting, can opening and cracking of nuts. All food processed is collected in a receptacle forming a basic element of the apparatus. Novel means are disclosed for the quick but firm attachment of a chopping blade and can opener, to an operating lever, for use over the receptacle.

A powerful lever is swiveled at one end to a vertical column supported on a base or container. An anvil adjustably mounted upon the column, forms an abutment cooperating with the lever for cracking of nuts. An enclosure is mounted upon the lever for adjustment therealong to a position enclosing the nut while being cracked, and directs shell fragments downwardly into a receptacle for convenient disposal.
