In a wireless network having a plurality of nodes which roam about the network, a method for routing data packets among the nodes whereby each of the nodes carries out the steps of maintaining a list of nodes which are reachable through the node based on advertisements received from other nodes; advertising to other nodes the list of nodes which are reachable through the node; and when receiving a data packet for which the node is not the ultimate destination, forwarding the data packet towards the ultimate destination based on the list of nodes.

Dynamic next hop routing protocol

A head mounted communication system provides interactive visual and audio communications between a user of the head mounted system and an operator of a remote system. The head mounted system includes a camera to pick up an image within the user's field of view. A display and optics are provided for projecting an enlarged image of displayed information at a distance from the user so as to be superimposed on the user's view of the real world. The system also includes a transmitter and receiver for providing two-way wireless communication between the head mounted system and the remote system so as to allow the operator of the remote system to see what the user of the head mounted system is viewing and to allow the user of the head mounted system to view via the display and optics video inputs received from the remote system so that they appear to be superimposed upon the real world.

A bar code scanning and labeling apparatus for scanning and decoding a bar code associated with a product and generating a two dimensional bar code dataform incorporating selected data including at least a portion of the decoded, product related data from the product's bar code and additional data related to the product is disclosed. The apparatus includes a microprocessor having data selection circuitry adapted to retrieve the selected data and to assemble the retrieved selected into a format suitable for encoding. A method of providing a modified bar code dataform using the apparatus is also disclosed. The steps of the method include: scanning and decoding a product's bar code dataform; selecting data to comprise the modified bar code dataform, the selected data including decoded data relating to the product from the product's bar code dataform and additional data related to the product; and utilizing the selected data to produce the modified bar code dataform.
