An optic assembly includes a light source, a reflector to reflect light emitted by the light source, and an optical lens disposed over and/or around the light source. The optical lens is configured to direct light emitted from the light source using refraction and total internal reflection.

A lighting assembly for illuminating a display case, where the lighting assembly is mounted to a display case and includes a visibility envelop within which an onlooker of the display case cannot see. The lighting assembly includes an elongated frame provisioned to receive modular inserts and at least one modular insert operatively connected to the elongated frame. The at least one modular insert includes a light module, where the light module includes an optical lens and a light source. The optical lens is disposed over and/or around the light source and is disposed exclusively within the visibility envelope. The LED is disposed in the housing with relation to the translucent cover such that light from the LED passes through the cover. The anti-fog film is disposed on at least one of the surfaces of the translucent cover.

A booster optic is provided in an LED light assembly that includes a primary reflective surface to redirect light towards a desired location to form an illuminance pattern that when combined with a first illuminance pattern, which is formed by only the primary reflector, provides a combined illuminance pattern having a more uniform illuminance characteristic as compared to not having the booster optic.

A splice connector includes a first IDC terminal, a second IDC terminal, a body receiving the first and second IDC terminals, and a cover connected to the body such that the cover selectively slides with respect to the body in the first linear direction from first position to a second position. The body defines a first seat configured to receive an associated first cable and second seat configured to receive an associated second cable that is to be electrically connected to the associated first cable. The first and second IDC terminals each include a portion that extends into a region adjacent a respective wire seat. The cover is configured to cooperate with the body where a portion of the cover engages a portion of the body at a third position between the first position and the second position such that in the third position movement of the cover with respect to the body in a second direction, which is opposite the first, is inhibited.

A modular radiation detector includes a scintillator module containing a crystal, and an electronics module containing a light sensing device such as a photomultiplier tube (PMT), and an electronics package. The scintillator module and the electronics module are releaseably mechanically coupled, for example by means of mating threaded portions on each of the modules. The crystal and the PMT are optically coupled via an optical window in the scintillator module and a removable gel pad which is pressed between the modules as they are mechanically coupled together.

Modular radiation detector assembly

A scintillation detector includes a scintillation crystal directly coupled to a photomultiplier tube (PMT). The crystal/PMT subassembly is attached to a voltage divider and the entire device is hermetically sealed in a stainless steel outer case. Conductors are passed through the hermetic package from the voltage divider via a high temperature metal to ceramic pass-through. The crystal and PMT are longitudinally loaded within the outer case by springs in order to minimize vibrations in the crystal and PMT. A thermoplastic support sleeve circumscribes the crystal and the PMT to protect the crystal and PMT from excessive longitudinal loading. Preferably, the support sleeve and the crystal have similar coefficients of thermal expansion so that the crystal and the support sleeve experience similar dimensional changes due to temperature fluctuations, allowing the support sleeve to best maintain its stress-limiting function as temperature within the detector changes. The support sleeve also protects the crystal/PMT subassembly from bending loads.

Scintillation detector without optical window

A scintillation detector (10) includes a scintillation crystal (14) and a shock absorbing member (76) circumscribing the crystal (14). A sleeve (98) circumscribes the shock absorbing member (76) which, in turn, is circumscribed by a housing (12). The sleeve (98) provides for substantial controlled radial loading on the crystal (14). A method of manufacturing the detector (10) includes placing the crystal (14) and shock absorbing member (76) into the sleeve (98), compressing the sleeve 98 and inserting the compressed sleeve (98) into the housing (12) such that the sleeve (98) substantially maintains its compression. The radial stiffness causes vibration induced counts to occur at an excitation frequency which is above the operational bandwidth of the radiation measurements, thereby excluding vibration induced counts for radiation measurements.
